As if. If it would not be whiffing to do so, I would point out that Sebastian's (latest) anti-single malt rant could not have occurred more than six months ago. Please.

But, if the elevator is not crowded, the man must step to the side and allow the women to exit first. If a man does not step aside for a woman on an elevator, I will usely make some form of snidely condescending remark. E.g., "Well, *that* was polite." It never fails to get an appreciative chuckle from the others on the elevator. I once grabbed a man who literally was pushing himself in front of a woman to exit the elevator and said, "Why don't you let the lady exit first." The man turned beet red and stammered an apology. The women gave me a heartfelt smile and then paused for a few seconds outside the elevator and handed me her business card before walking off.
I hate it when I agree with one of your "is the Flower kidding or not?" posts.

Anyway, other than the snidely condescending remark and the gallant thrashing of the impolite miscreant, that was pretty much what I was going to say when I caught up.

Sorry, my FB Tivo only has room for the Filling-Out-Forms rant, the Wasting-My-Life-While-I-Should-Be-Writing-A-Novel rant, Chicks-from Pennatucky-Are-Ugly-but-so=are-the Cats rant, and the classic, never to be unFB Tivoed, Lawyers-Are-Tools rant. I should probaby upgrade to the 72 hour FB Tivo

At least one source disagrees on proper revolving door etiquette.

Q. I'm a firm believer in chivalry, especially when it comes to opening doors. But what is the proper etiquette for revolving doors?

A. Traditionally, a man enters first. The thinking is that the male of the species, being physically stronger, should have an easier time starting the door spinning. While this is still a courteous thing to do, most people don't know about the custom nowadays. Plus, some women say they'd prefer to get the door moving themselves because they're strong enough and don't want to appear helpless. That's fine as long as a woman doesn't get huffy when a man offers to be helpful. If you don't need the assistance, a simple "Oh, I've got the door, but thanks" is the best way to decline.

Thank you for that. I now have a very good answer for the "if you were trapped on a desert island" question.

I've had it with the pricks at Polo too. I bought a couple dress shirts there because they were allegedly slim fir and had cutaway collars. I put one on and the damn collar was tiny. You could barely get a good woven silk tie under it, and it left an inch of space beteen where the collar ended and the lapel started. I looked like on of those trads you see at weddings who doens' know how to dress and wears a shirt with a horribly ill fitting collar. And yes, the shirt was baggy.

I'm tempted to go on a point collar rant, but I'm tired and the meds are beginning to work.

I love the booth seat. I have a friend whom I go to lunch with frequently who actually likes the chair (or so he says) (freak) so I always get the booth (we always tend to go to the same place). The prospect of a booth seat for my ass actually figures into my decision to go to lunch with him. This (and several other things) makes me think I lead a pretty boring life.

Yeah, but when it's your job, it's no big deal, flower.

Actually, no. I'm really kind of mad. Partly joking, but I'm really tweaked. I had to order my pants through the fucking mail. I don't do laundry often. Things could get dangerous real soon if the order doesn't arrive on time...

Holy shit. That is exactly the interview I was thinking of when I nominated DD for best talk show guest. That interview rocked. My spouse and I can still get each other going with "daddy tiny girl here" and the crazy uncle poop. "Comedy Periphery"? That was an ad lib, people. Game over.

Why is Jon Stewart not a bigger star than he is? I would gladly put that interview up against anything Johnny Carson did.

Last week on SNL Seth whatshisname gushed that he had a heterosexual man crush on Colin Firth. It made me think of you, Atticus.

Aplogies to GWNC, then. Sebastian was not just ranting to feel superior. He is mad.

As long as you need to buy pants through the mail, you might as well step it up and buy from www.yoox.com. European designer discount site. If you cannot find Italian pants that fit your no ass skinny leg frame, you are Karen Carpenter.
