Nah. During that movie, Clooney was still an adherent to the Shuffle-Feet-Grin-And-Wait-For-Girl-To-Disrobe School of Acting, and he used the technique more often than uttering any actual dialogue.

Oh yeah - the flex. He was good. Quite frankly they were all hot except for the sortof soft Cruise. And woo on the Iceman.
eta - shit. This is what I do for #3000? Oh well, nothing better than a Val Kilmer reference.

Another one late to the party
DVD's to own
Office Space
Shawshank
Monty Python's Holy Grail
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Remember the Titans
Rudy (I don't own it (yet) but it's like a magnet on the TV screen I can't bring myself to click the channel button on the remote. Evil film)
MP3 players - both of mine got fried this week. I'll post the details on the Technology Board since there are no salacious details to share.
News of the Weird -
The Tennis Masters Series tournament in Madrid will not have the traditional ball girls and ball boys. No, they won't have a cool techno robot either. The organizers decided to hire fashion models. I wish McEnroe still played, sigh.
Red Sox
Great pitching by the Yankees. Once again they are able to deliver. Pedro did much better than I expected, but not good enough. Why can't the Sox hire a manager who can manage the pitching staff? Why, Bilmore, why? Curt gave it a shot, but it was clear in the 1st that he didn't have his A game. Hopefully Bronson can give us a good game tonight and that the offense will wake up before the 7th inning. I'd hate to lose on a rain out in the 5th. That would really hurt.

I haven't gotten shipment on Slacker yet, but it will replace "Office Space," which is good, but doesn't have the depth to stand up to >6 viewings. Besides, I leant it to a friend who hasn't returned it after three years. He's an IP litigator. (Penske!?!?)

FWIW, I am told Le Mans (1971, Steve McQueen) is the best movie about auto racing ever made. I have never seen it, so MMMV.

Worst. Obit. Evah.
- [LAST NAME DELETED], Shane - Age 34, a resident of San Francisco, a former resident of Dierks, AR, died Monday, October 11, 2004 in San Francisco. He was born June 25, 1970 in De Queen, AR. He was a member of the Dierks Church of Christ. Since his move to San Francisco in 1996, Shane has been involved in high technology recruiting. At DPRC he was a senior recruiter successfully placing technical consultants in a highly competitive marketplace. From DPRC he moved on to Inteliant Corporation, where he managed a group of twelve recruiters and was responsible for negotiating business with large government and corporate accounts. He successfully integrated local recruiting efforts with national Inteliant offices and spearheaded the Nations Bank/Bank of America business negotiations for computer consultant business. Shane is remembered for creating a matrix to track interview to hire ratio to improve office business. From Inteliant, he continued his recruiting career at other companies including Modis, PsiNapse, and Techlink Systems. Shane will be remembered fondly throughout the San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Los Angeles area as leader in the technical recruiting industry and a true professional dedicated to helping others obtain their career goals. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers . . . .
I'm not sure his loved ones realize that the circumstances under which he left his last job render him essentially unemployable.

If Begala and Crossfire have any redeeming features, I am unfamiliar with them.
