But if it makes you feel better, I'll watch more closely to see if my urine starts glowing or my hair starts falling out in clumps.
I've been meaning to go totally veggie (but not vegan), but it is so much easier with the number of times per week I eat out to have the seafood option open to me. I'm not really much of a carnivore.

I was just passing along the information, Pretty One. I wouldn't presume to tell you how to live your life. I have enough trouble trying to live my own.

If you think this is bad, try talking to me. I hate it, frankly. I want all the options removed. I'd like to say something and not consider an alternative point/sentence structure while saying it.

Did you see the Daily Show interview with Dwight Yokum? My friends made sure to send me links so they could mock my tendency to tangent in weird ways that only make sense to me.

I caught pieces of it. Its a weird malady, isn't it? I can focus intensely, but I'm constantly thinking about all these contingencies coming in from all sorts of directions. Frustrates the piss out of people I work with, but it works well in court. You know the other side's next move early, but your offense is always running at half speed because you're constantly hedging to avoid getting fucked on small points you think your opponent is going to nail you with later.
I want one of those lobotomies like that Kennedy zombie. Get me thinking straight.

I'm just glad I don't have to bill time anymore. Concentrating on one project at blocks of time? Shoot me.

What is the moral of this story?
Terry MacMillan, 53, is divorcing her 30 year old husband -- the inspiration for How Stella Got Her Groove Back (she met him while on vacation in Jamaica) -- because she has learned that he is gay and suspects he used her to get his citizenship.

Oh God, I used to lie so much on those things. I never knew what I was doing all day. Is there a bigger case of mail fraud in the United States than legal bills? Its kind of funny how true the silly plot hook in The Firm really was...

Yes, all those .1's start to look a little weird on the bills.

At present, the primary advisories for the West coast appear to be tuna, sea bass, and mackerel. Risks are greatest for infants, small children and expectant or nursing mothers.
In addition, farm-raised fish is safer than wild caught fish. However, research is ongoing, and officials are beginning to note that other fatty fish, such as salmon carry similar risks.
The current recommended limit is about 12 ounces a week, which is a fairly good load of sushi.
Lots more info is available
here, including a link to state-by-state advisories.
BTW, it is actually the EPA and FDA, not the CDC, that are issuing new standards.

You need to fill it up with .1s and .3s. You also have to smash various tasks together into fat blocks of time, so no one can figure out how much was spent on each.
You get caught lying when you get lazy and start firing up those fat ones:
"5.3 - Analysis of contract and applicable caselaw to determine applicability of choice of forum provision."
You gotta shove some more creative shit in there and break it up a little.

But only for a limited time. Heed the lesson:
When I was in grad school I briefly dated a marine biology PhD candidate who was writing her dissertation on plankton. We broke up, on relatively amicable terms, shortly before Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving, I didn't go home, but rather had two friends from the English Department over for a fabulous, if I say so myself, shrimp marinara (Hi Fringey!). We got really drunk and started gossiping about people, including my ex, who was a college friend of one of my guests. At some point we started mocking her dissertation topic by substituting the word plankton for key words in every title or line of prose or poetry we could think of. You know --
The Sound and the Plankton,
Call me plankton;
Ask not for whom the plankton tolls, it tolls for thee;
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of plankton;
All happy plankton are alike;
Margaret are you grieving over Planktongrove unleaving;
Gather ye plankton while ye may;
Shall I compare thee to a summer's plankton, though art more lovely and more temperate;
Things fall apart, the plankton cannot hold; ...
And on and on and on. Having taken the English Literature GRE only about a year before, we were still loaded up with quotes to use. And every time we thought of another one, we laughed so hard we nearly cried. There were even moments were we were hitting the floor with our hands. Mind you, we were wasted. But still, even in our wasted state, there was one moment, rather suddenly, where hilarity no longer ensued, and we ceased.

1. The original meaning: When someone posts a subtle joke and someone else responds to that post not seeing the joke, while making the same exact joke in a not-so-subtle manner. This is a classic whiff.
2. The easy meaning: When someone responds to a joke post sincerely, completely missing the joke.
3. The Paigow/most popular (lately) meaning: A response to anyone who doesn't read your post in the way only you could understand it. Or, in the alternative, a cop-out when someone nails you for making no sense.
Whatever the meaning, it has been played out for roughly two years now.

Then I flipped it over and came on its face, because it was begging me to. Then it took my still quivering love anaconda into its mouth and just let it sit there, slowly running its tongue up and down my shaft until every last drop of ejaculate had been expelled. Then I went to work commando, supremely confident without looking down even once that I had no Sebastian stain.

Do that to me and your bill will go unpaid (and I'm pretty damn easy to work with). As long as you go through the motions and allocate time to each task, it's highly unlikely that I'll challenge your bill, and I think you'll find that's true for most clients. If you are smart enough to pass the bar, you should be smart enough to make up shit on your bills so they look legitimate. And don't be afraid to look back at last month's bill so you aren't billing for the same shit over and over again. That one will get you hammered.
The only reason I audit bills and occassionally ask for a (minor) adjustment is because that is one of the things I'm evaluated on.
