Understood. Does that mean I can't respond even though I know your stance?

no. but I am 5-3 in fights with you, and I want the socks keeping score to realize that was an exhibition.

I have real mixed feelings about the rule. In HS I played defensive line. Often in practice the QB was a "no-hit." We couldn't touch him- or actually we were supposed to touch him as a show we got to him. Once I'm stringing him out on an option and he pitches and then the fuck blocked me- hard- any other blocker would have gotten shivered and dumped, but I wasn't supposed to hit him. so I have a strong anti-QB bias. Thank Brian Nelson, that little fucking prima donna.
I think it is a really tough request to ask a defender to go all out against some 350 lb. guy, get by based upon speed and leverage and brute strength- then quickly decide whether you can still hit the QB, and where you are likely to hit him if you reach out and do.

Translation:
I have real mixed feelings about the rule. In HS I played squash. Often, after practice, the QB of the football team would come by to give us a little "friendly hit." But we couldn't touch him- actually we were supposed to thank him as a show of gratitude for going easy on us. Once I'm exhausted after a brutal squash practice and then the fuck comes up behind me and shoved me- hard. Any other student would have gotten reported to the principal ASAP, but I wasn't supposed to tell on him, much less hit hit him. so I have a strong anti-QB bias. Thank Brian Nelson, that big bully.

I agree. Although I may have the same anti-QB bias. Not because one hit me hard enough for me to care (I actually was a defensive lineman) but because it is part of that game of football. If you can't hit the QB or receivers, giving them cause of the slightest bit of doubt every time they release the ball, or run a route over the middle, you can't play defefense.
It is already a brutal and violent game. People get injured constantly (most frequently the guys who don't get any special protection). Pretending to give a little extra measure of safety to the prima donnas will not fix that.

I agree. And some of the calls this year on late hits were just ridiculous. The automatic rule is stupid. The refs should be given the discretion to make a call if they see an intentional and significantly harsh hand/arm to the head.
Then again, I can see why they are changing the rules to give quarterbacks more protection. It's not like it used to be. These lineman and linebackers are so much faster and stronger than they used to be that quarterbacks, who are often sitting ducks, are in much more danger than they ever were. I mean these guys are all over 270 pounds and lots of them run sub 5 second 40s. You can't change quarterbacks every quarter.

Hunh.
I'm still trying to figure this one out, but my initial reaction is that this Google tool that graphically represents a bunch of global statistics is pretty friggin' cool.

Sadly, the only one of these movies I have seen is Little Miss Sunshine. Which was good, but, sadly, not as good as the hype i had heard. The little girl gave a good performance though.

As a fan of the team with the most sacked quarterback in the NFL for the last five years, I don't think that they're too soft on quarterbacks.

as someone from the city where the QB with the most interceptions played healthy this entire season, I dissent.
