Until I saw this response, I thought Ty's question must have something to do with American Idol. I would much rather listen to speculation about Iverson though, so phew.

Fucking UPS
So we ordered a limited-distribution bottle of wine and my husband ordered my Christmas present online.
He was out of town last week.
So I get the UPS notice for the present, but not the wine. When I went to check the tracking, it said that the wine had already been picked up. I call. I have not picked up the wine. Yes you did. No I didn't. OK we'll investigate and call you 10:00am Monday. No call. Husband goes to pick up my Christmas present and they say he's already picked it up. No I haven't. Yes you have. Do you have my signature? Hm, some guy named deAngelo picked it up. Who is that? I don't know.
So now my Christmas present and a limited edition bottle of wine is in the hands of some random guy who stole the UPS notice off my door. UPS checks my ID everytime I pick stuff up, but didn't check the guy who stole my stuff.
Anyone have any experience with getting UPS to reimburse? How long is this going to take?

It was nice of dAngelo to sign his own name. The guy who stole my state income-tax refund from my mailbox several years ago forged my signature, but then helpfully put his own Social Security Number below it.

2. Though I thought it was a query about the sequel to a bad Spielberg movie.

If the 80GB made your day, why would you be so happy about buying another one?

Why not call the merchant and tell them the product was not received, and that they need to work it out with UPS on the insurance they purchased, and refund your credit card.

She is entirely accurate.
"Q: How long will it take?
A: Some time."
You're so mean but I'm not scared of you and am willing to say it to you.

Music Question
A friend and I are doing a CD swap this gwfgwf season. The theme is cover tunes, and I'm looking for a bit if inspiration.
The top contenders for the final burn are:
Don't Fence Me In - David Byrne covering Cole Porter
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - William Shatner covering the Beatles
For A Dancer - Jackson 5 covering Jackson Browne
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole covering Judy Garland
Personal Jesus - Johnny Cash covering Depeche Mode
One - Aimee Mann
Burning Down the House - Tom Jones covering Talking Heads
Naive Melody - Shawn Colvin covering Talking Heads
Blackbird - Brave Combo & Tiny Tim covering the Beatles
Que Sera Sera - Pink Martini covering Doris Day
Top of the World - Shonen Knife covering the Carpenters
A coworker recommended the following -
Ring of Fire - Social Distortion covering Johnny Cash
Across the Universe - Fiona Apple covering the Beatles
and the Me First and the Gimme Gimme's body of work.
Any others?

I've had it take a couple of months, but that was several years ago, and related to damaged rather than stolen items.
I suggest taking it up with whoever you bought the stuff from--they are more inclined to try to make you happy. UPS generally exerts minimum effort, as (i) they're Teamsters and (ii) they don't see you having many alternatives.

I thought the only video option was 80G which is significantly higher in price than the 30G or the Nano.
Come to find out [duh on me] the 30 GB has video capabilities and I can buy that one. I feel less guilty and win-win-ish.
349 or whatever for an 80G is too much I feel.
I'd spring for 249--my mini lasted 2 1/2 years.
