Fuck You Starbucks

There was a Starbucks downstairs at work, but I never drank the coffee there. I'd walk the block to the CB&TL. Their mochas were sweeter and the coffee didn't taste burnt. If I liked the taste of Starbucks, I wouldn't have any problem with their methods. As it is, I'm moderately troubled by them.
Now I can't have caffeine, so it doesn't really matter. I occasionally have a cup of decaf from a local chain near the office. This depends solely on whether they have half-and-half and Splenda, as I don't like black coffee.
My money is on str8 to be a CB&TL guy, as that is the preferred choice of celebs in LA. They do write screenplays at several Starbucks in LA, but I don't want to get into a coffee/culture/LA discussion.

Wrong! I'm a "no coffee ever" guy, though Coffee Bean does have a nice blended chocolate-ice drink.

Hatch is so fucking snide and condescending. Its like watching Atticus. The only person I am really rooting for now is Susan Hawk. What the hell is Shi Ann doing on this show anyway? Wasnt there anyone better from her season>? She is useless.

How can you root for Susan Hawk? Well, anyways, you can't miss next week, based on the scenes, because it appears that
a) Colby calls Shi Ann out for her "strategy" of doing nothing. Good for him. I'm not even sure if she made the jury on Survivor: Thailand. If she did, it was just barely. They must have had real trouble getting women to come back for all-star.
b) Susan Hawk goes apeshit on Jeff Probst, perhaps over Richard's naked shenanigans? Couldn't tell what exactly she was yelling, but it looks goooooood.

Here is the problem with this board:
Whenever anyone gets criticized, everyone checks to see who is doing the criticizing and who is getting criticized. If I'm doing the criticizing (for example), someone points out when they think I've acted in a way similar to the action I'm criticizing. Or they reach (and you never have to reach far) for something else I do that's annoying and try to hold that up. Okay.
When it's paigow, everyone can't wait to jump in and tell her why she's a looney. I understand this because she rarely makes much sense. And she doesn't understand the following, which is the point you've all been waiting for:
No matter what is being criticized, almost everyone on this board automatically thinks it would be hilarious to incorporate it into every single one of their posts for all eternity. It isn't.
And if you're still doing it 3 years later, paigow's right. You are trying to signal to everyone else that you know stuff that is particular to the board. But who cares about the reason? The point is, it is stupid, overdone and objectively not funny.
Everyone is guilty of this. I make no exceptions. But why is it that no one notices when it is no longer clever to say, for example, "For Fred's sake. Oh, Fred, you devil. Fredland. I swear to Fred. Etfuckingcetera." Not everything can be an FBism. "Timmy" survives because it was a clever way of summing up a certain type of behavior. People aren't using it to be funny. They are using it to reference that behavior.
In short, sometimes you have to let the fucking joke die already.

Which joke? "Timmy" or "Fred"?
Seriously, I'm not sure what you are saying. It's like that time a few years ago when.....

See?
Instead of stepping back and looking at the change in your posting styles from before you were mod to after, you take what I said and try to diffuse it by making one sad, lame joke after another about your quest for power.
The difference between you before and after is that now you have this false sense of confidence in your posts that I can only explain has arisen because leagle granted you mod powers.
And to anticipate RT's response, no, it doesn't happen to everyone. The people who are mods who created their own voice on this board (and, in my opinion, you were well on your way, ncs) don't need to change their posting styles. And they don't.
That's it. I don't think you're drunk with power. Leagle goes in and out of those phases, but my criticism of your recent posting style is limited to what I said above. Especially since I whiffed on the "step off" comment (which will now be incorporated into every post for the next 8 years).

Strangely, that's also the problem with my family at Thanksgiving. And my group here at work. And the United Nations. And . . .

All groups learn to speak in shorthand and codes. It makes communication more efficient. Also, it's human nature to want to be part of a group. Using that group's codes and shorthands is one way to both enter, and feel secure in, a group. Big deal. Why do you try to tell people that, because they're not using the codes you would choose to use, they're not part of the group? Isn't that a sort of exclusivity-based cliqueism all by itself?

This is your best post in months. Live by it.
A summary of today's action: People who post lots of boring crap complaining about people who may post other boring crap. Except one group or the other can't type worth a damn.
Back to lurking and working.
Oh, and here's a hearty fuck all y'all to the GPs and others who are working hard this afternoon to screw up what would otherwise be a nice weekend here for us lowly worker bees.
Edited because I forgot the obligitory HAPPY FRIDAY and all that.
