Yay! Not Bob is back!

(apologies in advance if you were here last week and I did not notice)

You really are wide-open there.

Yes. He played Jeremy Piven.

Not Bob is not a sahm. You take that back.

NYC is not a high octane city. L.A. is a high octane city. Chicago is a high octane city. Boston, San Fran, Atlanta . . . high octane cities. NYC just has lots and lots of people, but they're all doing the same work as the folks in Cleveland and Portland and Houston, etc.

BS.

NYC is a tough city to be anything. Times 10. I've been in Boston it is totally different.

And of course, Minneapolis kicks NY's butt but what do I know.

I work in healthcare. There is no city in the world I'd rather work in healthcare, including NYC, than Houston, Texas. I suspect that the energy people here would be willing to go to Dallas, but that's about as far north as they'd be willing to head.

Emmys

I read a review and it made it sound as if Conan killed. The bit about putting Bob Newhart in a sealed container with 3 hours worth of air. If the show didn't finish on time, it would kill Bob Newhart. Good stuff

I was looking over the list of winners and nominees and was struck by 2 things. First, there are a bunch of people I've never heard of on that list. Second, the award for Outstanding Directing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Program went to the 78th Annual Academy Awards on ABC. So basically, we have an awards show honoring an awards show. Do the Emmys ever give the award to themselves, or are the some sort of conflict rules?

NYC is a piece of cake. There are 80 million firms, each with 80 million attorneys. Every case or deal or whatever is way overstaffed with hundreds of associates and paralegals whose sole purpose is to bill 18 hours a day, not to actually do anything that makes any real difference. So, yes, you have to work long hours, but the junior associates are doing paralegal work and the paralegals are doing secretary/document clerk work. It is the only way to keep the leverage ratio high and PPP through the roof.

New York has not been particularly hard for me. In fact it is has pretty much been a walk in the park. I lived out of a car in Toronto for a month or so once. Now that is not fun.

But I bow down to your clearly superior authority about the high-octane-osity of urban areas.

2. Hi Flower! I was going to say piece of cake, but instead I said "walk in the park." Same diff!
