So I get the UPS notice for the present, but not the wine. When I went to check the tracking, it said that the wine had already been picked up. I call. I have not picked up the wine. Yes you did. No I didn't. OK we'll investigate and call you 10:00am Monday. No call. Husband goes to pick up my Christmas present and they say he's already picked it up. No I haven't. Yes you have. Do you have my signature? Hm, some guy named deAngelo picked it up. Who is that? I don't know.
So now my Christmas present and a limited edition bottle of wine is in the hands of some random guy who stole the UPS notice off my door. UPS checks my ID everytime I pick stuff up, but didn't check the guy who stole my stuff.
Anyone have any experience with getting UPS to reimburse? How long is this going to take?

so many of your posts could be summarized as "the Italians have done more bad things." Think about it.

Come to think of it, wasn't "Federline" originally "Federlino"?

Frank Sinatra does an amazing version of "It's Not That Easy Being Green."

Speaking of Frank, how about Sid's "My Way"?
Oh, and 7 Seconds doing "99 Red Balloons." Must have. Their cover of Sham 69's "If the Kids are United" is good, but I like the original better.
I have a vague recollection of once liking Voivod covering Pingk Floyd (Astronomy Domine (sp?), I think).

The top contenders for the final burn are:
Don't Fence Me In - David Byrne covering Cole Porter
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - William Shatner covering the Beatles
For A Dancer - Jackson 5 covering Jackson Browne
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole covering Judy Garland
Personal Jesus - Johnny Cash covering Depeche Mode
One - Aimee Mann
Burning Down the House - Tom Jones covering Talking Heads
Naive Melody - Shawn Colvin covering Talking Heads
Blackbird - Brave Combo & Tiny Tim covering the Beatles
Que Sera Sera - Pink Martini covering Doris Day
Top of the World - Shonen Knife covering the Carpenters
A coworker recommended the following -
Ring of Fire - Social Distortion covering Johnny Cash
Across the Universe - Fiona Apple covering the Beatles
and the Me First and the Gimme Gimme's body of work.
Any others?

shonen knife "On Top of the World"
Roxy Music "Like a Hurracaine," or "Jealous Guy." Elvis Costello "My Funny Valentine."
ollie, 7 Seconds doesn't fit with the other stuff, but that is a great song. (I heard it 1 hour ago)

A wealth of information you are, Not Bob.
And one more:
Mary J. Blige's cover of (You make me feel like a ) Natural Woman -- also Carole King's cover of it (she wrote it, so not so much a cover, but she released it after Aretha, so I guess it is). Rod Stewart has also covered this song.

Ugg Debate
Kristian Laliberte protests indignantly when the subject of Uggs was brought up.
"Are you f*cking serious? I know it's a cliché, but Uggs are so over. Teeny-boppers and try-hard housewives. I'd never let a client wear 'em in a million years."
bwahhhhaaahaa. Uggs should be called "FUGS" I love the "try-hard housewives" part so true. Times Square is filled with both....

AoN, what do you all work out to? Spinning Songs from plf aside.
I like the Everytime We Touch by Cascada Song
And the Walk away remix by Chris Cox of Kelly Clarkson
SexyBack by Justin

I also am partial to The Waco Brothers cover of Baba O'Riley, The Unholy Trio's cover of Bring the Noise, and Red Star Belgrade's version of Highway to Hell, all of which are on this album. Which has this cover:

Speaking of GnR, their cover of "Live And Let Die" kicks ass.

In my bid for "Uncoolest Person on the FB" I submit the following:
I always get GunsNRoses and BonJovi mixed up. (Is BonJovi the name of the band?)

it is an ellis island type truncation of the lead singer's real name.
John Bon Giovi.

Prince doing "Nothing Compares 2 U", which he wrote but which Sinead O'Connor made famous, also counts in that category then.
ETA: Prince also wrote "I Feel For You" which Chaka Kahn made famous.
ETA again: Tom Jones did a shitty cover of Prince's "Kiss".

Oh man now THERE'S a flashback. I got a copy of Voivod, Anthrax and a band I can't remember the name of, but I can see the cover art in my head, all on the same day. The lead singer in that last band could scream like no other rocker could scream.
