See above -- mostly tunings or a different "sound" wanted for a different song (humbuckers v. single-coil or twelve string v. six, for example.)
(And sometimes it's exactly like hockey sticks. How many rock shows have you attended?)

Why they haven't developed the four-headed acoustic guitar for varying Capo settings yet, I'll never know.
This is my first (and possibly only) attempt at lame guitar-related humor, please appreciate it as it goes by.

End of April. On a Monday. Every year. It's called Patriot's Day and Boston actually shuts down for it.

Actual Fashion Related Question--WATCH NEGOTIATING

Why are you (or your friend, I wasn't really paying attention as to who wanted the watch, and I'm certainly not going back to reread the post at this point) buying the watch from a retail jewelry store? In answer to your question, then, with this starting point, expect a 25-35% mark-down from sticker and expect that to still be about 300% of "value".
Or find an internet friend with back-alley TCOTU wholesale watch sales connections and get a hook-up. Or go to the website that was posted last year right before my big watch purchase and expect to pay 10% below whatever you would end up paying in the jewelry retail store (please say it isn't in a mall too).
So many options!
|
Buying a watch from a brick and mortar store makes you a sucker. A pussy ass sucker ass.
I have a jeweler I use for all of my jewelry purchases. I trust him and can pretty much count on paying 50% of whatever he charges at retail. When I wanted to buy an Ebel, I looked on the internet, found www.prestigetime.com and priced the model I wanted to buy, and then called my jeweler. When I told him what I could buy it there for, he told me I should buy it from them... and I did.

Mid-April. I think April 13 is the official Patriot's Day. Closest Monday to that.

Unfortunately, Bostonians don't really like alcohol that much.

Where does your jeweler run his business from? Because it doesn't sound like you are buying over the internet, which what "not brick and mortar" is.
Or is this some kind of "Three Little Pigs" thing and you are proud that your jeweler lives in the straw house?

Currently his sig line reads og, which means "own goal" in soccer. An "own goal" is when you fuck up and cause the ball to go in your own goal. Flower and Ironweed were discussing whether it is appropriate for the time of such a mis-step to be included in a game line score. Why Ironhead couldn't explain this like I have is beyond me. With proponents like these, does anyone wonder how the game could still be so unpopular?
|
I know this has been discussed on this board before, but I assume that when you say "so unpopular," you mean "the most popular in the world."

Dear Board:
Given the emotional upheaval of the last week with Voldemort’s exile, Slave’s voluntary retreat, the announcement of Sebby’s impending fatherhood, Ty@present’s return, my 6000th post and the just announced Smackdown in Beantown(tm), I have found myself in an angst-ridden stuporous state. This state coupled with my recent conversion to the ways of the babyjesuschristsuperstar and the difficulty of that commitment with my formerly hedonistic lifestyle have convinced me that I need to embark on a spartanesque hiatus in search of my mojo. Coincidence with this convincedness (sic) is my need to go into serious and uninterrupted training in furtherance of Coltrane’s arse-kicking smackdown to come.
So I take my leave, stripped of my worldly possessions (but for a pair of 5 ounce flats, a speedo and my oakleys) and further, of my babyjesus peace (I must go this one alone).
[farewell boilerplate]In my absence, I will probably join my main man Voldemort for some blogging (and I will also be selling T-shirts, coffee mugs and mousepads-If you are interested, please contact me.)
And if you are on Yahoo IM or AOL IM or GoogleTalk and we don't already talk, let me know that too.[/farewell boilerplate]
Hank, take care of politics for me. [lie]I trust you.[/lie]
Adieu, vista la playa, namaste until we meet again.
Peace out!
Penske

My jeweler is in a brick and mortar actual store, in a strip mall for god's sake.
I did not buy a watch from him, because I was able to get one cheaper on the internet.
How is this hard to understand?

Right. www.prestigetime.com. That is also where I bought my watch last year b/c the nudge-nudge-wink-wink wholesale connection (hi, you-know-who!) that I was working said they couldn't do better than their prices either.
But sunny should probably buy from the mall. Sounds like a plan.
