What, do you want to talk about digging up valuable water-logged sand and clay in the yard again?

Personally, I was enthralled by the discussion of the macro nutrient content of various lettuces.

Watch it, skeletal loin-cloth boy.

ETA spinach is your best bet, and romaine sounds like your second-best bet. And that five a day website has some recipes for vegetables that sound kinda good. Will be sure to PM you after I try them.

Ooooh. Close call on which is worse for your skin. One of the world's perfect mathematical axioms is smoking=crow's feet.

Also true what someone said about not changing your facial expressions. At my engagement party, my then-to-be mother-in-law (who is a dermatologist) remarked to me about a friend of my mother's (who, for some reason, doesn't move her face much when she speaks), saying that she would have fantastic skin, because of it.

This is true for each and every one of my law school profs . . .

if you replace the words "his son A.J. Croce" with "himself" (or "herself," in a very few cases).

It depends on the type and cause of the wrinkles. If they are fine lines that are there when you aren't moving your face, alpha-hydroxy acid containing products will help the appearance. If they are caused by sun damage, chemical or laser peels are effective but are risky for those with darker skin tones. The deeper the peel the more effective but the more risky, too, and of course the more down time. Unless you can take at least a week off of work, stick to the superficial peels, either glycolic or lactic acid.

Eat a lot of salmon and nuts and olive oil and your skin will stay fine. I've had countless sunburns on my face in my life (though I'm careful not to let it happen anymore), have smoked on and off for a long time, drink a fair amount, wouldn't know moisturizer from cheese wiz and don't have any wrinkles.

Its got to be a the disgusting amount of fish, including heavy amounts of salmon sushi and lox, peanuts and olive oil (which I all but drink straight).

Or maybe its that I'm a guy and never cared, so it never happened.

Being a dermatologist is one step up from working at the clinique counter. Lots of derms say that kind of stuff but when you research it in the medical literature, you find zero scientific evidence that this is true. You can find bare conclusory statements uttered by derms asserting it is true, but no data to support those contentions.

It helps them to sell botox to the masses.

Just because a doctor says it doesn't mean there is any basis for what they are saying.

How old are you? Male skin doesn't show the effects of sun damage and smoking until later than female skin. Unless they are pretty fair skinned and got a significant amount of sun damage, most men won't start seeing the effects of sun damage and smoking on their skin until their mid or late 30's. Women starting seeing it in their late 20's to early 30's.

Or it could be genetics, and the fact that the skin on men's faces is more like the skin on women's backs (i.e., thick) b/c of that "estrogen" stuff.

The most painful gun-shot wounds are those that go through bone.

Funny, that's what my evidence professor did the rest of the time! He was considered the toughest professor at my school (because he regularly flunked 10% of the class). He liked to talk about how he knew evidence better than X judge or Y textbooker writer or any other authoritative source. He caught me sleeping in class one day and woke me with an "Are we boring you Ms. Bunny?" To which I replied yes, and plunked my head back down. another star in the constellation of my shining moments in law school.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

I now have this disturbing image of Sebby with Cheese Whiz all over his face. This is going to haunt me for days...
