You tell me. You, Hank and bilmore are the only way I find out what's those people are saying.
Give it a try sometime.

It's funnier than Bolton's mustache, or David Wells' or Kevin Brown's ERA.

Are you confusing me with Atticus? We both look similar on the net, but he takes his Mac with him into the shitter, and I don't take my PC.

Quebec Separating

Actually, in a secession, the legal rights of the native tribes might well be completely wiped out. The reason they are so anti-secession is that the Quebec government has been pretty cavalier about native lands - they tend to turn them into dams and parks - while the Canadian government is protective of them. Most of the protections available to the native tribes are found in the Constitution, and a secession would remove that doc as the prime mover of the new land.

But, they still haven't even figured out what a "winning" vote means. The Canadian SC decided that "the government" is the entity that must decide whether a majority or a supermajority is required to secede - and so the Quebec goverment said, 51%, and the Canadian (fed?) government said, "we're not sure, but it's higher than that, we think, but ask again later", and then, in a fit of humor, titled that the Clarity Act.
As the maple flavored slut said, it all seems like an act of futility. It ain't never going to happen.

I can't believe my man Arnold praised them. I am still trying to figure out which moron convinced him to do that.

Lets not forget:'

1) It may seem small next to the US, but it is the eigth biggest economy in the world. In most other neighborhoods it would be the biggest kid on the block.

2) They brought us Cirque De Soleil.

3) I would take French Canadians over Parisians any day (The owner of Cirgue De Soleil bought me and LessinSF an amazing dinner and actually hung out with us for a weekend, when he could have clearly kept better company. I lived in Paris for a while and all they did was scowl at me).

4) Celine Dion is a blessing compared to Anne Murray.

The ones who thought territorial integrity was more important than appealing to the voters - er - workers - at Taco Belle. They're an insular, yet forward-thinking, bunch. Work on that. Or, as an alternative, learn the entire Koran. I'm sure your Delay-is-dead candidates can pick that up quickly.

(Let us not be subtle. I think your revisionist vision for the R party is our death knell, unless we kill you first. Maybe you should approach McCain?)

1) Eighth place will barely get you into the playoffs - even in the NHL.

2) Cirque De Soleil is like watching a long porn flick. After the first scene, its all the exact same moves in a different order. And bad music throughout.

3) Comparing the French Canadians to Parisians is liking comparing Dog Shit to Horse Shit. One is much larger - otherwise, they both smell like hell and you'll do anything to avoid both.

4) Celine more tolerable than Anne? You're nuts!

Bolton

I've been alternately (a) taking a breather from the Boards and (b) getting a tan in Hawaii.

As I try to catch up (not on the Boards - on politics in general - and since SS and Iraq bore the hell out of me), where do we think this Bolton confirmation is heading?

And I don't mean in the sense of "yea" or "neigh" - since he's a lock.

No, I mean, (1) how does will Lugar's "strong" words and (2)Voinovich's blatant anti-Administration grandstanding* ultimately affect (A) Bush's relationship with his GOP Senate over the rest of his term and (B) where the not-so-solid GOP Senate will stand on his Judicial nominees once this filibuster malaise is resolved?

Any truth that John Kerry developed his plan to deal with al queda while travelling across the California desert? If so, this might have provided a "lightbulb moment"

or is he one of the 60% of Dems that don't beleive al Queda even exists?

Depends on how quick, swift, and potent the retribution Bush can bring on Voinovich. If none, then others may break soon. I don't have time to count votes, but at least a couple of the moderate Rs are up for reelection in 2006, and will have to worry about holding the middle in their states (Snowe, Chaffee, at least). There may not be five votes this time, but why hasn't frist gone nuclear yet? Probably he's not certain he has 50 Rs yet.
