Yeah, that whole "freedom of speech," "right of association" business can be a damn nuisance, can't it?
Just out of curiosity, were your one of those people who nodded knowingly when Atty. Gen'l. Ed Meese dismissed the notion of due process with the pithy observation that "they" wouldn't be defendants if they weren't guilty, anyway?
|
Just out of curiousity, you havent been one of the peanut gallery folks calling Tom DeLay a crook, would you?

No, I've just been one of the folks calling him a vicious venal thug and an asshole. Although, his admitted authorship of the racial gerrymandering of the Texas state legislative districts is a pretty flagrant violation of the Civil Rights Act.

You call that "harping"? Hell, that's nothing compared to what the conservatives were saying. What's your label for the criticism by the federalists and originalists?

This is utter bullshit. It was the wingnuts that wanted her in b/c she is an evangelical.
It was my guys - the federalist and originalists - that wanted her out.

I stand corrected. I should have said, "conservative wingnuts" rather than "religious wingnuts".

That's not harping because the Dems couldn't do it. That's a carefully aimed swing at Bush's nuts because he caved. Flip it, and tell me that the GOP wouldn've have done the same thing here.
"Your guys" were accompanied by some of the wingnuts too. One large wingnut organization announced opposition to her just yesterday, IIRC.

I was not defending McCarthysim, just pointing out that it was not all that big of a deal. Much worse political witch hunts happened this century with worse effect.

A Senator lying on the floor of the Senate for his own political game? Yes - that never happens. Well at least not more than two or three times a day.

They can squawk all they want about a violent overthrow of the US government, and actively work for our enemies, but that doesn't mean I have to give them a job.

Nice non-substantive PoPD. Did this come from the dimwits talking points memo? Odd how a party with people like the Clintons, Howard Dean, the Daleys and KuKluxKlanKleagle can criticise anyone as being a venally thuggish arsehole. I suppose that's worse than a rapist or murderer?

I uxsed to live in his district, so I can speak from personal experience. Apparently all you can do these days is rant like some sort of paranoid schizophrenic. Do you need a friend to talk to?
