What now, are you sleeping with him?
At my age, sexual impulses are so few and far between that an intellectual enjoyment can be as important as a few stray orgasms.

Its a hyperbolic tool used to point out the unfairness and the inefficiency in the system. I could debate any anti-legalization guy into the ground with it, and I have before. Try it sometime and you'll see (don't mention one iota of your use). That is all. I don't really want to support killings, and I don't really support the death penalty (unfairness) in this country as it is (I'd vote against it in any case in a referundum that calls for our personal religious opinions). That said, I am for obeying the law as adults. See my avatar if there are any questions, ma'am.

um, right

Yesterday, President Bush: Kerry is using "shameless scare tactics."

Today, Vice President Cheney: Kerry isn't "tough and aggressive" enough to stop terrorists from exploding a nuclear weapon in an American city.

(TPM.)

You need to be sober to post.

(Someone challenged me to a pot/kettle sort of thing. Here it is.)

Heck, my apple juice ain't ripe enough for me not to be. I just need a babysitter to call a time out when the fur starts flying. Perhaps LDE could step in when he's around and say something like, "knock if off, Hello (and whoever else is involved), or go to your rooms". Believe it or not, I'd probably let it go if any regular (who isn't poking me in the eye at the time) stepped in, but I'd be a bit partial to uncy Larry for this because his motives would come across as being beyond reproach.

This is the fourth time today I had no idea what a writer was saying.

You're in good company, because the first three writings were court opinions.

Don't forget to wash up before posting after you check the box. Once you get your keys all sticky, they'll never work right again*

At some point, nuance is just fucking stoopid. (Look, I used the special FB spelling!)
What nuance? If they're criminals, charge them and give them access to counsel. If they're prisoners of war, then Bush has declared formal hostilities at an end. Under the Geneva Convention, if hostilities have ceased, we are bound by treaty to release them.

If our democracy means anything, it means that we live by our principals when it comes to civil rights and the rule of law.

We've been going around with club in this for two fucking weeks now. I can accept that he disagrees with me. I'm just sick and tired of him asking the same fucking question over and over, and doing so in a wat that challenges the patriotism of anybody but him.

After the first dozen rounds, I begin to wonder why it is that he claims he still can't understand what I'm saying.

Thank gawd, at the end of D-Day, no one said "Yay!".

The war ain't over. I don't think B implied that. I think you live and die through your lawyerly skilz. I think they serve you poorly in a real-world situation.

Maybe because you've been studiously avoiding some specific statement, and he wants you to commit to it . . . . ?
