Signs that Slave was the inspiration for "Lathe of Heaven."
Funny that it was Salem officials who were upset.

It's happened before. A few years ago the TNT James Bond film festival turned into a hard core porn movie.

Yes, because Mr. McFadden obviously stopped to watch for awhile if he could comment on the production value of the channel.

I was thinking more that the movie was maybe something like "crazy lesbian witches with strap-ons!" but that works too.
ps it is Dr Pepper not Dr. Pepper

Why do we need Women's Beach Volleyball? There is already Women's Volleyball. I appreciate Women's Doubles Swimsuited Ass-Slapping as much as the next guy, but why does it have to be an Olympic Event?

They are different events involving different skills. Why have a marathon and a 100-meter dash? Both involve running, after all.

Playboy
My husband bought the latest Playboy because he knows someone in it. It's the one with Terrell Owens etc. My question is - who buys this magazine? The centerfold was ugly, the articles are not particularly good, and the non-centerfold women were not all that hot. Who is the intended audience? Old men?

Another example... Looking at your avatar reminds me that they have three different events for throwing stuff, the javelin, the shot put and the hammer throw. And yet no javelin catching competition? THAT would be entertaining...

I'll admit that they looked like they were really, really, really good badminton players. But who gets that good at badminton? How do they practice - are there other badminton players out there? If this is an Olympic event, why not horseshoes or lawn darts? Fuck, Olympic D&D would merit about the same cool factor as Doubles Badminton.

Man, you are one bitchy lizard. Buy a TiVo so you don't have to watch the events you don't like. Didn't I cover that in my initial post?
Synchronized Diving is my personal least-favorite, at the moment. They took a really interesting and beautiful event, and took away all the beauty of the dive itself by focusing on whether the two divers are moving in perfect synch or not. I'd rather watch Greg Louganis doing a perfect 3.5 somersault than try to figure out if two divers doing a less difficult dive have their feet pointing in the same direction at all times.
And from the name, Women's Synchronized Diving sounded so laden with potential....

TM's Olympic Rant - I agree
The Olympic coverage has sucked. They're not even pretending to show anything live. NBC isn't even updating their website with current results. I've found the early morning coverage to be the best. It's nice that they stick with an event until the match is over, but I would like to see more stuff live.
Despite the NBC fluff, the games are creating their own drama. How about that Iraqi soccer team and the Greek synchronized divers (silly sport)? There was some drama in the gymnastics too with falls and out of bounds steps. Did anyone expect the South African relay team to set a world record?
The big question is what about the two Greek sprinters and their alleged motorcycle accident?

Si. Two-on-two beach volleyball is nothing like indoor volleyball. Not even close.
