E-vites for an adult birthday party: tacky or the best way to get the word out (and get rsvps)?

I just did it that way (not saying that makes it not tacky). I could not get people to send me their actual addresses (after my initial minimal pestering attempts), so Evite seemed like the best bet. I think it worked well, and there were lots of out-of-town folks from different stages of life, so I think that they liked seeing who was rsvping that they knew...

One problem - Evite seems to be treated like spam by some spam filters. Not most of them though.

I get them all the time. I'd say a good 50 percent of the recipients bother to answer evites. Dunno if it's because they don't get them or they just don't know what they're doing that night and want to hedge their bets.

ETA: Apparently evites are quite a problem for people to craft responses to. How fucking hard is it to type: "Sorry, can't make it. Thanks for the invitation."? The retired lawyer, 32, in particular bugged me.

Hi Less

So Jenna Jameson filed for divorce today. There are surprisingly few SFW pictures of her.

And if anyone can find a copy of the Pauly Shore getting punched on stage in Texas, please share. It's funny. Because I hate that guy. I could not find it on YouTube.

Probably both, but I tend not to fear the tacky.

And not only that, but I can't believe it took her 20 minutes to craft what she did end up typing. Fucking lawyers. I bet she was in a big firm her entire, illustrious career. Imagine the drafts.

Just respond with a "Best" and be done with it.

I didn't find her that annoying. perhaps since I'm from Boston and have worked with lawyers for 10 years? I'm immune!

Perhaps, but I bet she was missed at the party (if the party was not attended by her in-laws who, apparently, hate her).
