So its an easy win, then. Run the meter, cash the check. You don't really give a fuck. None of us give a fuck. If we did, we wouldn't be here.
And I mean that as the highest compliment I can offer.

I surely hope so. this board is like the separating the men from the boys [swedish? heh.] Only the eclectic, cool, funny assed people hang out here...the others don't have the imagination to. or the humor.

How did I know you'd say that...
Dude, I never felt lower than being the lawyer from Philly in a room full of NY lawyers. It was like starting with a huge sign over my head saying "Stupid, Obstreporous Douche."
I was just at a party over the weekend where guys from a city near here were talking about how stupid and annoying Philly counsel are.
If its any consolation, the dumb bastards are running themselves out of money. The legal rag in town published an article this morning saying the average salary for upper mid-levels is $130k here (they fire you when you hit $150).
All I can offer is, we're not all that stupid, ill mannered and greasy. But then, I'm not from here, and I never wanted to be.

Well, I have run into more than a few New York, Florida and California plaintiffs' lawyer who wear the same sign. Including some from a top* New York firm.
* Well, others might call this firm a top firm, I happen to think they are decidely second rate.

It is not the 6th Borough. I've worked in both cities and this place doesn't have the right to wipe NYC's ass.
This city is an example of everything wrong in our country - perhaps the biggest freeform performance art piece about failure, corruption and desperation on the East Coast (including Baltimore). NYC is, for all its flaws, The City.
It took me close to a decade, but now I understand why my father cringed when I said I was moving here. "Dead" doesn't begin to describe it here.

I bet there are some from Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming, too.
But maybe some are not from top firms.

Technically, I think NJ is the 6th borough and Philly is an unincorporated province of NJ. Does that sound right?
You'll always have the cheesesteak though.

I've found NY lawyers of all stripes to be very practical, smart and direct. That includes white shoe power players and little solos I've dealt with. I think in a town with that much going on, you don't have the time or energy to be a pain in the ass.

[Business name redacted to protect the guilty] which allows business-casual attire during the summer, says it was getting so many questions about what was acceptable earlier in the year, that it sent out a 20-page PowerPoint presentation to its 450 employees just before Memorial Day clarifying its guidelines. In one slide titled "How to Wear Crops at [redacted]," a photograph of a woman wearing cropped pants and a blazer is captioned "Like this," while another shot showing the pants paired with an unbuttoned blouse says "Not like this." The company nixes untucked shirts and flip-flops for men, for example, while reminding them to "Be sure to use a belt when loops are available!" For women, open-toed shoes are OK but only if they're worn with pantyhose.

The wife wants to move to NY when the baby is born? This seems backwards.

I'm not comparing the Yankees to Detroit or Chicago, knucklehead. I'm wondering why you can't be a fan of your local team even if they aren't going to the playoffs. Besides, I don't want to hear people whining about the Tigers or the Cubs because those fans got to experience the Pistons and the Bulls. If you can only cheer for the team in your city that is currently winning, you're not really worth much as a sports fan.

It is so hard to understand what you are saying when you have Ironweak's cock in your mouth. He came hard after your first post about the greatness of the NYC bar, and I doubt there is even the smallest drop of ejaculate left for you to suck out at this point, so you can probably disengage and get on with your life now.
I've found NYC lawyers of all stripes to very practical, smart and direct, and I've found NYC lawyers of all stripes to be moronic, self-important, delusional jackasses. Just like lawyers everywhere else.

I think it's great that this company is spending money telling its female employees not to wear unbuttoned blouses at work. Though presumably a little more attention to quality control in the hiring process would reduce the number of employees who need to be told this.
