I got you on that fifteen-point thing, too, but I've been too polite to point it out.

Give me a fucking break:
"...Democratic state Assemblyman Mervyn Dymally, who had scheduled a protest by civil rights organizations, canceled the demonstration after an apparent mix-up over the girl's racial background.
Dymally was quoted in the San Jose Mercury News Thursday saying the child was "a little African-American girl. Would he (Riordan) have done that to a white girl?"
The girl is white, with blonde hair.
Dymally did not return telephone calls. His office issued a statement Wednesday calling Riordan's remarks to the girl "outrageous and irresponsible," then issued another statement Thursday saying, "To err is human; to forgive is divine."
Yeah, okay. No racism there.

If Al Franken were calling Condi Rice a lesbian on a regular basis, I'd have the same criticism of him (despite the obvious distinction between her and Hillary Clinton of not being married), but it just ain't happening.

Give it a rest -- I didn't attack you personally. Hell, I've been ignoring you for weeks on end, in large part because you think everything I say is an attack or evidence of my racism (or evidence that I'm short, or that I'm a bad lawyer, or whatever).
If you haven't been part of the constant drumbeat of "Hillary's a lesbian" and "I hate Kerry -- and look, he's doing something GAY!" then it should be obvious to you that the comment didn't apply to you.
eta: Of course, when you spout obvious bullshit like "I say Hillary's a lesbian not because I think that's bad, but because it shows SHE's A LIAR!!!!", then my comments do apply to you. Deal with it. If you didn't think being a lesbian was bad, why would you give a shit? Even if she is gay, even if her marriage is nothing but a front, don't you think maybe she could be a little upset that Clinton stuck a cigar in Monica's twat? Hell, I'm upset about that and it doesn't mean I want to fuck Clinton.

I couldn't care less about Hillary's sexuality, as long as she keeps her hoo ha away from me, but its the serial nature of the lies that troubles me.

Do you really think Hillary is a lesbian? If so, why?

I agree with you in general, but not on discrimination type issues -those tend to be more endemic to the left. Patriotism, for example, is an example where this is seen on the right.

On the other hand, there's something troubling about (e.g.) conservatives who silently abide the use of gay-bashing (a poor shorthand for the effort to make political hay out of the marriage amendment) in an election year. It's not that it makes them homophobes per se, but it smells bad.
|
I agree. Many of them are homophobes. The others are just willing to sacrafice "them" for the benefit of "us."

There's no question in my mind that the state legislator in question is a moron, but he's not a racist. He's mistakenly accusing Riordan of prejudice, but that does not a racist make.

You're a San Francisco centric clown.
Have you ever spent time on the east coast? I have. I was stunned by the level of racism there, especially amoung the highly educated. Of course, in public they would say the right things, but I've never heard so many N-Bombs dropped as my 4 years on the east coast.
And before I over-react, are you suggesting that I'm a racist?

It upset her because it affected her power base and her chance for future dominion over the masses.
What you dems can't face up to is that character counts and lying is indicative of bad character. Perjury bad. Speaking of which, when is she going to apologize to the American public for that performance on the Today show and when are we going to see the serious consequences? I'm concerned.

I look forward to a continuing wash of anecdotes about dumb things said by individual Dems that don't relate to the party's position on sex or race. Meanwhile, your party has a platform that addresses it expressly, and is constantly crowing about its electoral vote stronghold being an entire region where angels, and metrosexuals such as yourself, fear to tread.
Let's stipulate that all of Southy and Brooklyn use "faggot" as an epithet, and let's say they all vote Dem. Still, tell me that homophobia is "50/50" between Dems and GOP. The GOP has a religious anti-gay platform to poach homophobic Dem moderates? Yeah, right.
