PRO-REFORM CALIFORNIANS TO
DEMOCRATS AND UNION Bosses:
STOP supporting taxes and start
supporting reform
Grassroots movement mobilizes in favor of
Governor’s reform agenda
(SACRAMENTO) – Angered by government employee unions and Democrats in the legislature who continue to push for tax increases, reform-minded taxpayers today launched Go For It Arnold, a grassroots mobilization effort to champion Governor Schwarzenegger’s common-sense reform agenda.
The Go For It Arnold team includes taxpayers, parents, and community leaders who are fed up with the billions of dollars in tax increases being supported by government unions and the majority party in Sacramento. Today these citizens launch a campaign to blaze the way to fight for real reform led by State Co-Chairs are Jalene Forbis of Siskiyou County and Julie Vandermost of Orange County.
“SEIU union bosses from around the country have threatened to come to California and spend whatever it takes to fight Governor Schwarzenegger’s reform agenda,” said Co-Chair Jalene Forbis. “These are the same government employee unions that brought California to financial ruin under Gray Davis. It’s time for the union and the Democrats they fund to step aside and allow Governor Schwarzenegger to go for it and restore the voice of the people.”
Go For It Arnold is a statewide, grassroots movement where pro-reform Californians throughout the state are going into their communities to mobilize family, friends, and neighbors to fight for desperately-needed reforms based on common-sense solutions:
Bring accountability to California’s budget and stop the out-of-control spending
Reward good teachers but don’t guarantee bad teachers jobs for life
Draw districts that benefit the people not the politicians
“I am furious that unions like SEIU and obstructionist Democrats in the legislature continue to block Governor Schwarzenegger’s efforts to institute real reforms that will restore prosperity and opportunity,” said Co-Chair Julie Vandermost. “Californians are hungry for reform and Governor Schwarzenegger is standing with us to restore responsibility and accountability to state government. I have one message for spend-happy Democrats and the union bosses who want multibillion tax increases: Beware, Go For It Arnold is coming to a city near you.”
Go For It Arnold also launched www.GoForItArnold.com, a pro-reform website where Californians can join the movement and show support for Governor Schwarzenegger’s reform agenda.

how did you like John Thune? I helped fund his campaign partly out of spite for his opponent, and I'm planning to do the same if the Rs can present any credible candidate to run against Durbin in Illinois.
Given the numbers posted by Ty, I think that the current makeup of the senate partially reflects that the Rs are better (for the moment) at picking their battles. They are picking Senate battles in states where the Dems are subject to strong attacks, and then getting a national funding base to fund the statewide Senate races. Its a great tactic to use when it comes to the sparsely populated states where the dollars can make a difference.
In Illinois, things are going downhill for the Dems fast. Daley's move yesterday to appoint a very young and inexperienced chief of staff looks desperate. Reports are that the Feds have put in 24 more FBI agents just to look into more allegations of city corruption.
Come next election cycle, I'll put even money on a new R Senator in Illinois.

I hosted Coleman and Thune out here for a Silicon Valley fundraiser. It was amazing, because all the Silicon Valley "bigwigs" did not care about these Senators, who they did not really think were going to win, so I got to spend the whole night with them. Anyway, I was kind of having buyers remorse with Thune when I found out he was a creationist. If I had known at the time I would have confronted him on it, but now it is too late.

This is the benefit of being a Democrat. The biggest buyers remorse faced by Dems came from the fact that our guy was getting some strange in the White House.
Someone I mind that a lot less than finding out that my guys are sqeemish about claiming Flinty as a relative and can't understand sixth grade science.

Sure. Hey, why not count it as -- what the heck -- 38 wins? That seems like a good number for today. [Note to self: buy lottery ticket].

Confronted him? How? Saying "You idiot, were you asleep during your sixth grade science class?" doesn't go far with these people. By definition they can't be reasoned with.

Hank, did you think I post a reference to six-grade science for any reason other than baiting you?
Please respond with a Gilligan post.

Funny, but their reasoning skills seem on par with the very mammalian relations they so quickly disavow.

This is funny that you bring this up. I just read an article that said in California the State Senate used to have one representative from each of the 58 counties. Under that system twenty nine counties with less than ten percent of the population could stop any bill in the Senate. These countys were rural, and were therefore conservative, giving the conservatives a lock on the California State Senate. The US Supreme Court decided that allocating the Senate by geographic area instead of population was unconstitutional. The result was that the little countys became insignificant and San Francisco and Los Angeles dominated the state. The writer of the article argued that California, in the sixties, had the best educational system, a brand new highway and water system, and free junior colleges and state school. He argued the infrastructure and the school system now sucks because the liberals took over once the State Senate was changed, and it has been down hill ever since.

I wasn't sure where this was going, but I must admit that the consistency of the punch line gave me some degree of comfort.

That Scott mustered this level of righteous indignation about an error resulting in the loss of life and the lasting damage to the image of the United States is a testament to how far the young man has come.
Wasn't so long ago that McClellan's press conferences advocating Administration policies needed the constant safe harbor of Jeff Gannon's questions to avoid being reduced to a small puddle by the press corps. Now, clearly, the man's balls are big and they're brass. Bravo, I say.

Hmmm. This account will provide more of a challenge for Scott to spin. Perhaps a call to Ari is in order -- sure, quoting from a 2000 page Army report that details soldier beating prisoners to death is a significant hurdle to clear, but that man could take this story and in five minutes have us believing that this reporter, Mr. Golden, was really an Al Quaeda sympathizer.

at this point, given your history, its hard to believe its possible, but this further illustrates the depth of your ignorance.
