Plus, it just doesn't look right. Very disorderly. It says the driver is either too lazy to do a three-point turn, or not confident of his skills in doing one, which calls his very driving ability into question. In such a case, one should be relieved only to get a parking ticket.

Don't worry, Ty. You've got my sympathy. I got a ticket last year for parking in an unmarked crosswalk. I honestly thought that someone was close to running out of time in meeting his quota and made up a violation, but it turns out that apparently there is such a thing as an unmarked crosswalk. Fuckers.
My mom once got a ticket on I-40 in New Mexico at 11:57 pm for driving with her brights on. The fucking freeway divider was half a mile wide. The only possible thing she could have blinded was a gila monster, and I'm pretty sure they sleep at night.

I recently got a ticket for parking during the purported street cleaning period. I was pissed, because that motherfucking street would be lucky if it got cleaned every 104th Tuesday, let alone every Tuesday. But that's irrelevant, because the motherfucking violation is not obstructing the street cleaners, but "disobeying official sign."
Motherfuckers.
In a funny ha ha coincidence, I was getting my teeth cleaned at the time.

Huh. If RT's mom had been driving on the wrong side of the interstate, she wouldn't have gotten that ticket.

Last winter I was towed for parking on a street with no parking between 3 and 5 am.
No one could tell me why there was no parking between 3 and 5 am. It just the way it is.
Apparently, that particular sign is much disputed, because they had a copy of it taped to the wall at the impound lot.

Actual e-mail sent firmwide by an attorney here last month:
"What’s illegal about exiting freeway off-ramp and immediately reentering on next on-ramp?"

That street has room in the middle for only one car at a time.

That reminds me -- I forgot that the motherfucking street cleaning ticket writer had ordered a fucking TOW. To be fair, I can see issuing tickets even when the purpose of the sign won't be carried out that day, because it's not for the driver to determine when the street will actually be cleaned, but ordering a tow when the street is not going to be cleaned? That's just plain mean.

4 or 5 years ago the old Tiger Stadium is closed down. It opened in 1912. Around the stadium were lots of street level parking lots. No structures.
Anyway, the Tigers had blown for about 15 years before, so they didn't normally draw big crowds. But- last game was an event. It was completely packed. They brought back players from the 30s on up. Guys on walkers hobbled across the field. I was there with my dad and kids. in front of us were 4 generations, everyone reliving memories. It was the single best sporting event i've been to.
But, parking is the point here. That night, the lots have more customers than they've seen since 1984 (last WS). As I pull in, the guy directs me to a "spot" ON the sidewalk. There were others parked beteen the sidewalk and the road. It seemed wrong, but the guy who told me to park there seemed official.
After the game, no ticket, no incident.
A month later i get a letter from the City of Detroit parking violations bureau- They denied my appeal for the ticket I got that night. The lot had picked up the tickets, put them in an envelope and mailed in an appeal. That way no one bitched that night. The lot didn't care because it was the last night anyone would ever pay to park there.
It a great Tiger Stadium story, and sort of worth the $100.

Oh, well that's even worse. How the hell are you going to turn around?
Since we're doing this, I got a speeding ticket for going 6 over in a 65mph area. At 11:00 pm. 6 over!!! In Northern California. Who gets a ticket for 6 over? Around here no less. Most of the time I drive 10 or 20 over. But I could only be so mad because if he had paced me in Oakland only 10 minutes earlier, it would have been 25 over.
