Their account said that some of the people who were in the hotels evacuated to the hotels. I'd guess that if you see a native checking in to avoid the hurricane you'd figure it was safe enough to stay put.

And if the conditions were intolerable for paramedics, who are trained to be pretty damned squeamish, it must have been just awful.

If the buses had removed 50 or 60,000 pre-levee break, then when these folks went to the Superdome or Convention Center there would have been room at the inn and the conditions would not have been as bad as they were.

Yes. That was my second point. One might have thought they would stay and help- I'm not trying to strong arm them into it, but that could have been an option. What they did instead was try and order up a bus.

Just saw the latest chapter in the meltdown of the Democrat party on CNN.

Shrill Shrieking harpy Pelosi was being interviewed by the lovely Kyra Phillips and rather than let her rant and spew her hateful dimwitted lies about Bush's role in NO, Phillips continually challenged Pelosi's raving delusionalism with hard hitting querries, which ultimately elicited this typically democrat-style juvenilely stupid politics of personal destructivism from Pelosi:

"Well, why don't you quit your job and got to work for the Bush White House?"

First Nagin, then Blanco, then Landrieu, then Dean, then Jesse, now Pelosi. The democrats are becoming more unhinged by the day. What gives Ty?

As for the Grenta law enforcement, what do you expect? All of the locals there are as corrupt as hell and its accepted. If the tables were turned the NO police would have probably robbed the people to fund their next Vegas gambit. That's not to defend it, but if you want to clean up facism and racism in law enforcement you don't need to go to Grenta, its all around us-I'm looking out of my window now and see a couple of Seattle Police officers, classic examples of racist government officials who do nothing but abuse the power given them, the types of government officials who stand by and watch as mobs beat and kill innocent pedestrians, because they are scared but they are not too scared to pull over the random single black male and spread eagle him in the middle of the road on a daily basis for the crime of going 2 miles over the speed limit.

You'll be happy to know, then, that some people are using their second amendment rights to take care of the police problem in New Orleans.

I'm not sure what your point is. Generally I support 2ndAm Rights for defence. He killed himself not in any defence of anything except maybe his own psychosis. I'm not against suicide per se, but I don't think that is what the second amendment is about. that is more about the right to privacy........what amendment is that one found in?

I wasn't there, but as a wild guess, by Day 2 after the hurricane they may not have had much paramedic stuff (first aid supplies, etc.) left in the hotel to help out with. Possibly helping 500 people - including some sick, some elderly, and some newborn infants, by their account - get out of the city by arranging for 10 buses might have seemed, at the time, to fall within the definition of helping. JMHO, FWIW.

You may be right. But, more importantly, it would be presumptous for me to impose any expectations on the Paramedics based upon what i might do in their situation.
