Technology poses threat to GAs?

Everyone's heard of outsourcing of some attorneys to East India by GE and West. Technology also poses a threat to GAs. Firms are working on computer programs to compile documents and research with fewer GAs.

A number of firms have developed or are developing products that for a fixed fee can either answer legal questions or draft documents. According to Linklater's it may be possible to meet 80% of a client's needs through such a service. Other firms have similar products: Allen & Overy has New Change; Bryan Cave has Trade Zone; General Electric has produced Virtual Patent Advisor.

Excerpts from the web on Blue Flag:

Quote:
On Blue Flag, clients can get answers to a whole range of basic legal questions. A client who needs to find out whether, say, a specific British banking regulation applies to a set of facts goes to the site and answers several questions about the deal's regulatory status....
Blue Flag subscribers pay a one-time initiation fee of around £140,000 (about $200,000) for the first year and an annual flat fee of around £50,000 (about $72,000) for each subsequent year.... According to Linklaters it should be possible to meet 80% of a client's needs through such a service.

[Blue Flag also has a term sheet generator.] The Term Sheet Generator radically speeds up this process for syndicated lending, from hours to minutes. It enables bankers to create term sheets automatically at their desktops - with thousands of possible combinations - by completing a simple questionnaire.

CNN projects Kerry the winner of Iowa caucuses -- not that it matters.

Not fair, and not true.

NASA's work resulted in myriad technological advancements that affected most facets of our lives, most of which you probably never realized. Most top-end techie advancement benefits far more than just the explicit target.

(C'mon, Hank, I SAID no extra shifts. Working to rule, man. Dontcha see AG's plan here? Take exaggerated umbrage and drive away the other side so he can win by fiat.)

Sorry B. In this overworked time i shouldn't take on additional burden by being flippant.
My point wasn't that telescopes are useless. I simply took issue with Ty's apparent point that a trip to Mars was silly, while a space telescope is very important.
A trip to Mars would require advancements; that would turn into practical improvements; that will make you all more comfortable in your homes; while you read learned articles about the expansion-contraction theory in scientific American; which are supported by the new data; from the telescopes in outer space.*

*ncs tribute sentence.

I don't believe I said that. If Bush really wanted to go to Mars, one wonders why he isn't willing to put up the money for it, or even to talk to the people who could tell him that there's no reason to use the moon as a staging area.

In bilmore's world, all umbrage is exaggerated, because it's all for partisan gain.
