Fuck. This is why closet cosmo addicts end up hurling up good bourbon.

The cosmo? Who the fuck would be seen drinking that shit? If you're a guy, its unacceptable. If you're a chick, you're too green to deal with a martini, which advertises that you probably suck in the sack. Worse, you might think SATC is cool and secretly wish sarah Jessica Daltrey's character and her friends could actually be emulated realistically in real life. Either way, you ain't worth the breath most guys would have to waste...
Bourbon, on the other hand, advertises that you like to have a good time. You probably like fucking, and if you're a chick, you probably have non preblem telling the guy exactly how you like it. Bourbon is the cocaine of alcohol - it clarifies, amplifies and brings to the surface in glowing technicolor the elements of your personality you keep hidden. You are more the person you are in the midst of a bourbon binge than you are the sober button downed person at work. Liars don't drink bourbon.
Bourbon lets you be the screaming baboon you are. It takes you back three or four rungs on the evolotionary chain and strips the detritus of modern mannered social behavior aside like varnish remover. You never really know a person until you've had four or five manhattans with him.

I've never seen it. But if some fictional character has also realized that they constitute the perfect marriage of alcohol and dessert, I'm putting it on my netflix list.

Why would any self-respecting whisky drinker have Bourbon when there's Scotch out there?

The marketing boost would be amazing, but the gig is just a year and potentially the contacts in the NY market would be worth a pay cut, perhaps a significant one.
However, she didn't exactly come out of things looking awfully competent, I have to say. Any publicity is good publicity, I guess, but the risk of looking like an ass and/or an incompetent (at your chosen profession, no less) on a show like this is pretty high.

So long as you embrace your drink of choice honestly, and thereby don't waste the bourbon, I don't care if you drink wine coolers. I won't be seen near you, but I'll respect you.

For the record, I've never seen Paigow drink anything weird or silly...just perpetually searching for a decent marg in DC, which she won't find unless she lowers her standards.

I'll drink whatever vodka is given to me to be polite, but at a bar, I order Stoli or Ketel One. I don't drink anything in a painted crafted crystal bottle. It ain't Louis 'Tre - its fucking pototo moonshine. If I want to purchase advertising, I'll take out space in the newspaper.
I can't rewrite the screed about why people who follow trendy joints should be collectively boiled in poison oil. Its a given.

You can't embrace the Cosmo honestly. Its a dishonest drink by its very nature. You MIGHT be able to do so if you drank them exclusively pre-SATC, but if you are a post SATC Cosmo swiller, there's more than just your looks keeping men away.
Knob Creek
Makers
Basil Haydens
Old Fitzgerald
Wild Turkey 101
On ice, tiny splash of ginger ale, unless its Basil, in which case, straight.

Wrong. Rosa Mexicana has arrived in DC, and I have touted Andale for awhile now. DC is usually about ten years behind the curve, but they have been catching up in that regard. With the arrival of Baja Fresh, I have no real complaints on the Mexican front. There are no good indie joints like there are in California, but I can get by with this. And those Rosa Mexicana margartias are really fucking strong. I am buzzed off of one of them and by two, I am one drink away from becoming a screaming babboon. Of course every lobbyist, lawyer and pseudo hipster with a skihouse in Western MD or WVA crowds the place, so you gotta go on a Monday through Wednesday.

Really good vodka recently discovered accidently when looking for cheap stuff for a party: Monopolova. It's a potato vodka out of Austia, and it's stupid cheap, but damned good. The bottle doesn't look like you only paid $15 for a litre of the stuff, so you can con your friends into thinking that you spent a little extra for a smaller label. I'd put it up against any decent vodka.

Speaking of the Apprentice . . .
Amy was bar hopping last night and her hair looks so much better now than it did on the show. She is also, according to the guys, really f****** hot.

As I told Flower, you really need to see the bitch. She's got a magnificent coat.
If your shepherd has a red ass, you might want to have her seen by a vet.

I actually think that was the best reason for Troy to get fired, and it's too bad that they didn't talk about it more. I don't think it was really sleazy or unethical; it was just transparent. Clearly, if your're spending $30-$40k for a space rental for one night, that's not the entire budget. And the money isn't that much in the grand scheme of things; it's about the principle and the negotiation. That's what tasks like this are so much better than buying gold bars and shit and having Heidi flash her cleavage; they're really negotiating with real people who have real money to spend. But Troy turned it all into a used car schtick. Bill was right, it sucked. By the way, Bill is probably the most unethical of all. He's clearly trying to stir up shit between Amy and Nick, and he's often the most critical of the ideas of others without having any of his own.
I've been pretty amazed by how poorly I think they've all negotiated things. If you're going for a big number, don't say that you're looking in a certain range. Ask them what their budget is and ask them what the event is going to be. Talk about how memorable it's going to be. If some banker is planning a $100k NYE party, he doesn't give a fuck if he spends $105k instead of $95k, as long as it gets all his friends to talk about it for 15 years and gets him more business. And you can never ask above the first number you name. That just ruins credibility, and that was why the guy walked out on Troy.
The closer thing was bullshit, and I hate it when people try to pull that shit. I'm a fourth-year transactional lawyer in a small niche practice, and I spend like half my time meeting with people and negotiating with them. Before I started all that, I was just some bright-eyed straight through school guy was was even more naive than I am now. It's so clear to me when poor negotiators are trying to do their thing, and I imagine it is also clear to anyone else who has any minor transactional or negotiation experience. Those kind of tactics really grate on me, and that's why the chubby dude having the wedding reception walked.
That was the reason that Troy should have been fired. The fact that he's an uneducated small town rube helped, too, but Trump was right about him being the kind of Tom Wolfeian man in full who builds up an empire with that kind of schtick.

Does this shepherd belong to your Peeping Tom neighbor? Perhaps you and he could do a swap for the evening? I amsure your wife won't mind.
