This "self-examination" is so mis-directed and so harmful- it is leading back to the day of when we erected a wall. We don't want to know what the CIA is doing with al queda guys- any normal human would hope they doing some bad shit to make them talk Ty.

As with most all things, Howard Stern as President would resolve the issue. Under a Stern Presidency, all TV shows would have to start with the WTC attack videos- just the highlights- plane hits building falls- maybe a little people jumping. If this were going on, instead of having bloggers being outraged over waterboarding people who might know where the next attack is going, you might actually have American brain-powering kicking in to improve the techniques.

Looks like Rumsfeld made a surprise visit to Baghdad today to "reach out to U.S. soldiers and to meet privately with his top generals in the field." Reports are that he also visited Abu Ghraib. Look for future articles about Don knocking on doors, kicking some ass and taking some names, as he does some investigating to get to the bottom of all this.

It's a nice, dramatic trip and all, but someone on Rumsfeld's staff needs to better adivse him. I know it's getting hot in the kitchen in Washington, but placing oneself in a war zone in response is probably overdoing it. The White House knew that when they had to get out of town, they only needed to go to (say) Arkansas.
