Maybe it was an accident, and it was the help she wanted, and not the kind of help we can all do without? I wonder if Tommy Smothers et al were thinking of Jennifer's Joy Toy and that was a little subversive joke amongst the Free to Be-ers.

I had a different pilates instructor today for my semi-private and we "flowed" through about 50 zillion different exercises on the reformer. But I nailed the snake and twist for the first time even though I thought I was going to fly off. Anyway, this is just to say that now I feel GRRRRREAT too. So, rather than a marathon, I would recommend whirlwind pilates.

No, assjack. At the risk of sounding like a defensive Certain Someone, I usually do 30-ish min (sometimes a few extra a little slower to get heart rate down) and then abs and sometimes arm/chest/back weights, then another 30-ish* min, always with a few extra to get heart rate down. When I'm going to the gym regularly. Which happens only for relatively brief periods, interrupted by long periods of inactivity.

*I have been known to poop out if, e.g., the iPod runs out of power.

you'll catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar.

Helpful.

Exactly what I want to do when my legs are hurting like never before. I sat down for a bit, but then was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back up, so kept moving.

I didn't make it much further, and started feeling dizzy, so laid down on the grass for a bit off to the side. Happily, they let me into a fenced-off area to lie down and called for a medic (there were others, too, who needed to lie down). One dude they let in was a doctor (at least, he claimed to be), and gave some instructions, and I felt better after a little bit, and after eating some bagel and drinking some sugary gatorade. Apparently my lips were turning blue.

After I got my warm clothes on, I felt much better.

AND NOW I FEEL GRRRRRRREAT!
Apologies if you've already answered this, but were you faster than Katie Holmes?

She made it to the bitter end around 3:30 p.m., with a final time of 5:29:58.
Which sounds slow.

Never use the baggage check. Just give your bag to your SO.

So Fringey - Lindsay Lohan gets her cupcakes at Porto Via. They look yummy. Are they better than the ones you got for you peoples?

Word. The only thing with that is, I wanted to have my phone at the end, so I could FIND my SO. Even if I didn't have baggage, I would have been herded along that way just to exit the park. Sheesh.

And yes, I was faster than Katie Holmes.

I was in the paper (which means I'm one of the 30,000 fastest!).

Okay, now I'm going to have to make a tomato cheese tart, cause that sounds so good. You bitch.

To be honest, though, at some point in time, your SO may stop waking up at an ungodly hour to come with you to the Start line (since he/she's done that four previous times). Instead, he/she will get up at a reasonable hour, walk 4 blocks east, wave at you at mile 7, and then go back home. Eventually, he/she will make it down to the Finish about three hours after the race started just to tell you how much you smell.

You will have to use the bag check then.

I hate wearing pumps these days unless they are sexy t-straps or something interesting. I'd like to wear boots. Do I go with a brown? Heel or no heel, or wedge? Leather or suede? (The fabric is wool and cashmere).

Thanks.

Use 4 different kinds of heirloom tomatoes. It involves goat cheese and some other kind of cheese that I haven't been able to identify (not that I'm a cheese expert!) -- possibly, maybe, fresh mozzarella.

And puff pastry. It's a flat one-serving tartlet. It's REALLY good. Ask ncs.
