Not since I married her. Trouble is keeping her convinced I'm worthy of her. Why do you ask?

Why is he there in the first place. I don't feel anger about him being there, but I do think it is incredibly stupid and naive for him to be there. I am also thinking today about how random westerners walking around Iraq jeopardize the safety of our military because they may become targets and the military may feel the need to try to rescue them.

Recycle - it's good for the post!

Wait. WTF? How'd I get dragged into this? Well, okay. Just so long as this isn't seen as an endorsement of Nader on my part.

And Hank, I ain't scared. What are you going to do, call Clinton an adulterer? Say he lied (under oath no less) about an affair? Point out Kerry has a rich wife? That he opposed the Vietnam War? That he supported the moves to cash in on the alleged peace dividend promised by Bush I at the end of the Cold War?

Just stop citing Reagan/Bush I as paragons of virtue, and I'll stop mentioning my unshakeable (I say UNSHAKABLE) belief they were at best completely incompetent managers or at worst treasonous bastards.

If you do, ask yourself whether you would have on 9/12.
I am somewhat conflicted.

Do you believe that morality/ethics/right/wrong is situational? Most folks do, I suppose.

On the other hand, virtue and principles should not be a suicide pact. How far can one stretch the concept of legitimate use of force in self-defense. Most people would say that, in most situations, the world is full of shades of gray.

Look for future articles about Don knocking on doors, kicking some ass and taking some names, as he does some investigating to get to the bottom of all this.

It's a nice, dramatic trip and all, but someone on Rumsfeld's staff needs to better adivse him. I know it's getting hot in the kitchen in Washington, but placing oneself in a war zone in response is probably overdoing it. The White House knew that when they had to get out of town, they only needed to go to (say) Arkansas.

It was a PR coup.

People, including people at the CIA, are often motivated by things other than politics. I know that this administration is so relentlessly partisan, and uninterested in policy, that this may surprise you, but there it is. Attacking the NYT for running a story that someone leaked to it is just a little silly. Washington is a former swamp, and it leaks.

haven't seen this stuff elsewhere, but its starting to look like the prison was one big ass party, with some real unfortunate Iraquis locked up and caught up in it.

Now that it seems like there's evidence of this not going up the chain, it'll be interesting to see how the Dems play it-
I think what happened, at least with Lynndie England, is that she was an ugly girl raised in a trailer park, shipped to Iraq to be in an environment where the male:female ratio was significantly in her favor. For the first time in her life, she was getting tons of male attention simply because there weren't many women competing with her for the male attention.

That and porn. This is what happens when you mainstream porn.

If you had read my posts in the past, I always compare Clinton's weasely nature to Carter. Carter did what he believed in; albeit he is mentally deranged, but at least he stood for something- Clinotn? No.

Are you scared? I don't care. If we have a fight will you regret it? I have an opinion, and i provided you advice based upon my opinion. the advice was in writing- do as you will.

I won't forget.

  • On Friday, September 6, Franks and Rumsfeld briefed the president and the NSC on the latest war planning. . . . General Franks had something important to add. "Mr. President," he said, "we've been looking for Scud missiles and other weapons of mass destruction for ten years and haven't found any yet, so I can't tell you that I know that there are any specific weapons anywhere. I haven't seen Scud one."

Plan of Attack 173
  • [On Saturday, September 7,] Blair and Bush took questions from reporters. They said they were committed to ending Saddam's threat one and for all. How or when went unanswered. Bush asserted unequivocally, "Saddam Hussein possesses weapons of mass destruction."

Plan of Attack 178

Ty, everyone thought there were WMD in Iraq. There probably were but they either haven't been found or were moved to Syria or were destroyed in the months leading up to the war. It is just so silly that you label that a lie.
