I'm funny that way.

The proper qualifier would be Dem leadership. You really have no input that I am aware of at the national party leadership level.
based upon qualified knowledge, I am of the opinion that you are a person of integrity and character and off of this board are probably righteously embarassed by the murderers, rapists and klansman that populate some of the Demo-party's leadership and your posts here and some of your votes are just the kool-aid talking.

What does "every" mean? Every leftwing biased African-American group? It was a modern day lynching and everyone knows it. And the Dem leadership doing the lynching didnt have the moral authority to question Bork's character. What an outrage!

But I may not recall correctly. This was twenty years ago. It only justifies the continued Republican viciousness, exemplified by certain denizens of this Board, in Penske-land.

It is not a matter of justification, it is a matter of the record of the Demos destroying our once civil and respectful institutions of government. Much like Clinton defiled the Oval Office with his crude puerile behaviour, Kennedy, Byrd, and Biden defile the chambers of the Senate with their hateful politics of deceit.

Wait a minute.
You're telling me that for a disclosure/leak/observation/elliptical statement with no names made to reporters in 2003 -- which elicited loud and repeated claims from this administration that nope, wasn't us, and by golly, I'll fire anyone that identifies agents in MY administration -- that simply because two years have passed, and now it's "common knowledge," it's okay to change the standard?

None of this mitigates the audacity and constitutional defiling that occured when the Demo leadership participated in a campaign of lies, distortions and smear tactics. You should all be embarassed about the damage they inflicted on our country. For my part I am embarassed that I voted for Chris Dodd in 1986. If I could have one wish before I die, after the money wish, it would be to rescind that vote.

Are you being purposesly dense? It's now common knowledge that there was no outing in 2003 because she was not covert. There was nothing to out. Bush didn't know that at the time, so it makes sense that he would be referring to the leak.

Ah. Gotcha.
So your position is that shit, everyone KNEW that she was CIA at the time, so the statute couldn't apply, right?
Which means that Fitzgerald has been pissing in the wind for the last couple of years, has jailed a reporter for no good reason, and convinced multiple layers of appeals court judges to agree with him on doing so.
Strikes me as somewhat improbable, but I give you points for spunk. We'll see what the results of the grand jury investigation are, which I'm hoping will come to fruition about 12-14 months from now.

Hate politics started long before Bork or Gingrich were twinkles in their parents' eyes. That shit goes back to fucking Old Rome. Its existed in every state through history. You really think but for the Dems it would not have been introduced into this country? Whatthefuckkindofdrugsareyouon?

I agree completely, but as one who'd like to see this thing blow up into a mini-Watergate, I am fearful that for this thing to bite as it should, Fitz has to land this sucker in 6 months, not 12-14. We do not have the same attention spans we had in watergate, and unlike Nixon, a large chunk of the press in this country does not want to see Bush dragged through the mud. If we're talking 12-14 months, this thing is dead in the water. Unless it pops up at some opportune time, such as the hearings on Bush's nominee to replace Rehnquist.

Bork? Oh, come on... even conservatives find him appalling. There's stirring the pot, Penske, and then there's just sounding like a full on imbecile.

Take the bet then sparky.
And don't take my word for it, go read the NYT, the WaPo, or any other link that Slave and I have posted over the last few weeks.

Sebby,
I draw a distinction.
In 1986 Bork, while conversative, was one of the most qualified jurists of his generation and a judge who by any objective standard should have been approved by near unanimity. The Demos dumbed the process down beyond belief (FWIW, at that time, I stated, that if a demo nominated Tribe then, unfortunately, the Senate should approve, because by any objective standard he is qualified.)
Today, based on his current writings (i.e. over the last decade or so), I agree, he's appalling. But that still doesn't change the fact that he was emminently qualified and should have been approved, but for a smear campaign, by the likes of degenerates such as Byrd, Kennedy and Biden.

Fortune smiles upon you, Sebby. This WaPo article mentions at the very end that the grand jury's term ends in October of this year, so presumably Fitzgerald will have to fish or cut bait soon.

This board is like watching a great cross examination. Occasionally, you get a dead screwed, guilty as hell witness who also happens to have great powers of rationality, self delusion and incredible facility with language (thats being generous). He'll twist in circles, contradict himself and deny the obvious. You never get the admission or the smoking gun, but what you do get is a series of absurd replies, and when you stack them together and present them one at a time in closing, like magic, or a good laxative, a huge pile of shit emerges.
If you read through the last two weeks of this board, you'll see a fat steaming pile served high as turds can be stacked, of GOP excuses, ducking and weaving a series of damning facts... as highas their favorite target, Bubba, could ever stack shit.
I am not going to google shit or offer a boatload of deabte points. There is no point in arguing with those who don't see the wrongness of what Rove did. Best to just sit back, needle the fuckers and watch them twist. They're caught, pants down, dick in the hooker, flashbulbs going off in every direction.
Sucks guys, doesn't it? Now you know how 1997 felt. Spend your breath all day... all your vehement horseshit excuses are translating to "d'oh."
