According to last night's Straight Plan for the Gay Man (much funnier than you would think), the key is listening. If you listen too much, you're in the friend zone. If you listen to nothing a woman says, then you're hitting on her.

I'd say you need to improve your listening skills . . . or stop staring at their boobies.

Average Joe

Did no one watch the finale last night?

spoiler

1. In the funniest twist of any reality tv show ever, what's-her-name had to reveal something about her past to the guy she eventually chose -- that being: SHE DATED FABIO. The guy found this to be so repulsive that he dumped her almost on the spot. Hilarious. The best ending of a dating reality show yet.

2. The little guy from Boston gets dissed. Surprise? No. You could tell when they kissed that he didn't have a shot. And that accent. Jesus. And why the hell didn't he phone a friend and ask them if he should tell her that he loved her. That was the kiss of death if he ever had even a remote shot. Pathetic. That said, I felt bad for him when he got rejected and was sitting in that bus all alone. Sad. At least he didn't try to salvage the situation when she dropped him and just said, "Good bye," on his way out.

*sigh* my dreams are crushed. I planned to move to where RT lives to be with her for the rest of my life, so that we could have a non-marriage marriage together. And we could have a series of pets to replace the children we soon won't be allowed to adopt. And yet, alas, it is not to be. My love shall remain unrequited. Ever shall I suffer from longing for the psuedo-lesbian. It's unfair. But I shall go on.

Heh. You said boobies.

A female friend, after a discussion that centered largely on her new-found sluttyness, ended the conversation with "well, gotta run. All those cocks aren't going to suck themselves, you know."

That might work.

It's possible that McKay just wants us to hang out, but I got the distinct impression that he wants to set us up.

Any pointers on how to project "no, though sometimes I think it'd make my life easier, I'm not a lesbian."

On the bright side a male artist did invite me to "go back to the studio" last night, so perhaps I'm giving off some aura of liking dick.
Move to Massachussetts (from the Onion):

Massachusetts Supreme Court Orders All Citizens To Gay Marry

BOSTON—Justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled 5-2 Monday in favor of full, equal, and mandatory gay marriages for all citizens. The order nullifies all pre-existing heterosexual marriages and lays the groundwork for the 2.4 million compulsory same-sex marriages that will take place in the state by May 15.

Looks like someone has their sweater tied in a knot. We were FLATTERED by not being on a list. And we were equally on it. That said, he is all yours, sister.

Yes. As a few people here have known for a while... in the words of "Weird Al", I lost on Jeopardy!, baby...

Enjoying the debate on the merits of Penn's performance as Spicoli... It was indeed more nuanced than it appears. He fashioned Spicoli after a bunch of surfer dudes he grew up with.

Was rooting for Bill Murray, but Penn's body of work (3 prior nominations) and his performance in Mystic River leaves little to complain about...

craziness

This is crazy. This woman's 10-day-old daughter was killed, or so authorities thought, six years ago in a fire -- her body was never found. The woman goes to a birthday and is struck by the six-year-old's appearance, so she contrives to take some of the girl's hair for DNA testing, and it's her daughter.

That's fine. I don't even watch my own, though Mrs. Hand always seems determined to drag the tape out at parties...

Same here, but it wasn't something broadcast to zillions of people, at least not to my knowledge.
