- Songs occasionally can refer to events not directly related to the match. For example, after John Hopoate, playing in the Australian National Rugby League was suspended for "digitally penetrating" the rectums of opposition players, crowds in the British Super League were reported to have been singing "Do the Hopoate" to the tune of the Hokey Cokey. [Not Bob asks: shouldn't that be "Hokey Pokey"?]

Are shorter kids more likely to be homo?

- No 'Joy of Gay Sex' at This Idaho Town Library
There would be no joy in sex for homosexuals in one Idaho town if one public library user had his way.
Randy Jackson, of Nampa, Idaho, checked “The Joy of Gay Sex” out of the library and says he has no intentions of returning it. But Jackson isn’t looking to learn any new moves.
He checked the book out as a form of protest against the library, which he says shouldn’t carry books with graphic content when teens and children frequent the library, KTVB.com reported.
The library recently decided it would continue to carry “The Joy of Gay Sex” and similar titles as part of its collection, but the controversial books would be housed on higher shelves.
“I believe that the library board did not have the best interests of the community in mind when they made their decision today,” Jackson said.

One hopes that Mr. Jackson is getting good media advice. Any PR person knows that the best way to maximize attention to one's cause here involves the flashy and public destruction of the book.

If I were the librarian in that town and someone requested the book, I would provide them with Mr. Jackson's name and address and infrom them of his deep and impassioned interest in the work.

i was wondering if there wasn't male and female versions of the J.O.G.S. and whether he checked both out- then his story would hold water more (or is it better?).
Or maybe women don't need some much instruction?

I love how one English team's official song is to the tune of "Sailing", with the words, "No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes us, we don't care." My new ambition is to go to a Millwall game.

Not the best goal ever, probably not even the best goal of the World Cup. But I assure you that you could spend the rest of your life practicing soccer every day would never be able to do that under any circumstances, much less in overtime in a World Cup game.
Slavey, the Germans looked solid from what I saw. I may have sold them a little short. I think they will ultimately lose to Argentina, but will give them a good fight.

Just for clarity, I would prefer that the word "football" not be used to describe lawn hockey unless the poster has dual or sole citizenship with some 2nd or 3rd world nation (Canada excluded).

Field hockey?
I actually had to play this. Needless to say, I sucked at it. I believe the high point was stepping on the ball thingy.

I think "lawn hockey" is an attempt to denigrate the sport of Soccer.
