What an Empty Feeling

Empty indeed. I feel like I have just weathered a grueling, marathon, no-strings-attached fellatio session during which I accepted meaningless, albeit expertly delivered, sexual services from no less than twenty eight nubile women in a twenty four hour period. Please, stop the madness. I have always turned to this board for spiritual nourishment and today . . .

there is nothing

how can you say that when your bunny that is sunny posted at least twice? If I were her, I'd remove myself from your no-strings-attached fellatio lineup.

ETC "here" to "her"

We know you two don't get along, but that post is hardly him impersonating you. And you're letting your personal feelings govern how you run this board.

Stop being an assjack.

Law school classes open on monday

http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/...falwell18.html

Quote:
''We want to infiltrate the culture with men and women of God who are skilled in the legal profession,'' Falwell said in a telephone interview Tuesday with the Associated Press. ''We'll be as far to the right as Harvard is to the left.''

Graduates of the law school -- part of Falwell's Liberty University in Lynchburg, which is affiliated with his Baptist ministry -- could tackle such issues as abortion rights and gay marriage, Falwell said. Classes begin Monday for the first-year class of 61 law students.

(snip)
Classroom lectures and discussions will fuse the teachings of the Bible with the U.S. Constitution, stressing the connections between faith, law and morality, said law school Dean Bruce Green, who has experience in civil liberties litigation.

Well, at least Yale Law School will have a new rival for title of "law teaching least relevant to the real world." Boola, Boola.

happy birthday to me

So this year a couple of retailers sent me little cards with special discounts for my birthday. Is this because:
  • (a) I would not give out my birthday to private corporations for fear that it would take us one step closer to an Orwellian nightmare and farther away from my own anarcho-libertarian fantasyland, but then this year I softened; or

    (b) Now that I've started shopping at a higher class of merchant (think Men's Wearhouse instead of Wal-Mart), they're taking care of me; or

    (c) My favorite retailers are onto something new to build brand loyalty; or

    (d) I have a rich secret admirer who is giving me presents through her vast retail holdings; or

    (e) These presents were made possible by the Bush tax cuts, and will not be repeated in the Kerry and Rodham Clinton administrations.

Discuss.

Does this mean Jerry's footing the bill for tuition, or will his grads end up like everyone else and dumping the idealism for a job that actually allows you to repay your loans?

It's (d), except replace "admirer" with "stalker".

I only received one of those last year, and it was from a restaurant chain that didn't have a single location in this state at the time. I like their food, but I'm not going to fly to Chicago to get it.

You must have to be an ubergenius to be in marketing.

If all that happened was SS posting "Deleted by Admins," then you are being a big baby, man.
You are entitled to your opinion.

However, the fact remains that each of the Admins take the issue of deletion and censorship seriously around here, despite the false assertions of some.

Real concerns were raised yesterday regarding the edit of a Politics post. Thereafter, several regular posters threatened to leave this Board.

As it stands, we have a limited pool of participants which, contrary to our efforts to bring in new members, has remained stagnant for months. If people start to leave en masse because of deletion concerns, the entire community will suffer.

False "deleted by Admins" posts serve only to spread confusion amongst the posting community, as posters begin to question the motives of the Admins and the censorship policy of the Board.

These types of posts clearly violate the TOS and in the future will not be tolerated.

Is it not the case that any edits made by moderators or admins will reflect the script "Last edited by ________ at [date and time]."? Since none of the posts had that script on it, I thought it was pretty clearly in jest.

eta:

Like this, only with the admin or mods name: (look what I did! rp)

(hey, me too!)

He'll have trouble filling seats.
Ave Maria is already skimming off all the best religious crank prospective law students, has been for years.

You're overreacting, which certainly doesn't enhance efforts to bring in new members. Couldn't the problem have been solved with a simple post along the lines of "this asshat is joking, this post was not deleted by an admin" and without legalistic reference to the TOS? I have no objection to your calling SS or anyone else out as an ass if that's how you feel about it, but why do you need to use your "authority" as an Admin to do it?* We know that the PB stuff was serious, but the FB post was clearly meant to make light of it.

*Even if you think this was an occasion where wearing your Admin cape was appropriate, you don it inappropriately at other times. You have been known to sign off as "the management" in posts where all you were doing was criticizing a post for being dull or stupid.
