Songs stuck in my head

Bruce, Bob, whatever.

The song I have had stuck in my head for THREE YEARS has finally been released nationally and now, since it is apparently #1 this week, everyone else can share my pain . . .

"Who is Mike Jones?"

Even(Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Jones . . . fucking kill me now)Odds

Indeed. However, I do have to admit that using the "you ain't a beauty, but hey, you're alright" line to pick up chicks is not a good idea.

So anyway, brazen babe, what say you and I run off to the empty conference room on the 39th floor and play "difficult partner and eager to please associate" again?

Song from Dawson's Creek
(In fact, everything by that Sarah McLaughlin chick)
Loose Lucy
Ramblin Man
The Eagles' entire catalogue
Bohemian Rhapsody (campiness expired a decade ago, yet still played)
So you still like Paradise by the Dashboard Lights?

First of all, I finally got No More Lonely Nights out of my head by blasting away at it with Soundgarden while on the precor. Now its back.

That said, you may have picked the only song worse than "We Built This City". That song, "welcome my friend to the song that never ends" may reign supreme, though I am not sure I have ever heard it get past that line.

Fire on the Mountain? Concur.

Loose Lucy and Ramblin' Man. You are way off, man.

And I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man.

ETA that I heard both "Wake my up before you go-go" and "Easy, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ah aaahhhhhh, Easy like Sunday morning" at the Korean this morning. That song sucks

As to Sebby's post, well, that's a weird-ass list. I can see calling all the songs annoying in some context or another. But there's not a Worst Song Ever in there.

C'mon. Sure, Fire belongs on a "worst Dead songs" list. But that's a narrower category than we're talking about here. Bad as it may be, Fire still puts me in a good mood.

And yeah, that ELP song is bad. But who wouldn't want to see the Gypsy Queen, in a glaze (haze?) of vasoline?

Right. Sometimes when we touch is the Worst Song Ever. Followed closely by a Paigow favorite, I've never been to me.

What a scene, what a scene.

There could never be a "worst Dead song" because as soon as you had it picked, a deadhead would appear in town would appear in town with 10 sheets of blotter and 80 bootlegs you've never heard before. You know, the really trippy ones.

And I thought the "Fire on the Mountain" he was talking about was the Mashall Tucker Band song. Thanks for clarifying.

The very worst song I have ever heard was the German disco cover of Inna Gadda Da Vida. The horror of it far outweighed any potential camp value.

Wait. Yes, I do.

The guy who is planning on marrying this woman, will get what he deserves. None of this could have been a surprise. From the Deer-in-the-Headlights look, to the Run-to-Mexico-to-send-your-fiance-a-somewhat-large-signal to needing-the-comfort-of-a-teddy-bear-as-the-police-lead-you-back-to-reality-of-your-life-covered-in-a-blanket-not-because-you're-trying-to-hide-your-identity-since-your-insane-in-the-membrane-face-has-been-posted-all-over-the-country-but-because-you-don't-want-to-see-anyone-else's-reaction-to-your-guilty-looney-face, everyone who knows her can't possibly be surprised. Normal people don't act like this. When normal people run, they stay gone. Her husband isn't surprised by this and worse yet, he wants someone who will be completely (i) dependent on him and (ii) in debt to him for taking her crazy ass in. Question is, when she flips out and kills the baby and tosses it in the garbage disposal during her bout with post-pardum depression and he finds her rocking back and forth in the crib, blanky over her head, holding a bloody knife and cradling that same teddy bear, will he act surprised?

Sebby and Not Bob have been debating Bruce for approximately 5 years. Sebby thinks that Bruce's odes to Wendy, cars, and factory jobs are trite and repetitive. Not Bob thinks that Sebby drank too much Everclear and Fanta root beer as a pledge, and that anyone who praises a 27 minute drum solo off of a Grateful Dead bootleg tape can never say that anything is repetitive.
Is your avatar Hal Sparks of Queer as Folk? Bc that doesnt seem very Not Bobesque to me, though I suppose the portrayal of Pittsburgh does resemble Podunkville.

Where do "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson and "She's Like the Wind" by Patrick Swayze fall on the list?

Bc Bruce Springsteen sounds like he is trying to break through his constipation issues when he sings.

Ew, did I just post that?
