breaking news: the doomsday clock ticks one minute closer to the apocalypse

That's like asking whether you have the balls to stop you car like Fred Flintstone instead of putting your foot on the brakes.
When Republicans blocked Clinton judges, I don't recall any conservatives saying, "that's not ballsy enough -- let's seem them do an old-skool filibuster."

Except that it was a nefarious plot . . . just not an illegal one.
I forget, are you in the "as long as it's legal, it's moral" camp with Penske?
|
Not in general, but I haven't seen anything on the Rove question to indicate what he did was immoral.

That's just a matter of bad tactics on the part of the DEMs. And frankly, I think they have been winning lately. See SS and the Fristing of the GOP on the fillibuster issue.

As I recall, the GOP had the Senate at least half the time, so a filibuster would hardly be necessary.
I guess your answer is no.
I know you love the word "smear". When can we expect the "smearing" from the Left? 9:03 EST? Or will they have the decency to wait until 9:04 EST?

I'd love to see how much money the Dems raked in over the last few days in response to the "Dear Voter...Rove should be arrested...signed John Kerry" letters that have been flooding in-boxes around the nation.

LOL, I just got this email 2 minutes ago:
Quote:
Dear _____,
How many more times will Karl Rove make President Bush eat his words and shred his credibility before Karl Rove does the honorable thing and leaves the White House?
Yesterday the President furiously backpedaled from his promise to fire anyone involved in leaking the identity of a covert CIA agent to the press. Now that it's known that Rove and Vice President Cheney's Chief of Staff Lewis Libby were involved, the President has lowered the bar and now says he'll only fire someone who is convicted of a crime.
President Bush is setting a terrible standard of leadership in the White House by protecting insubordinate aides who refused to come forward when the President demanded to know who in his administration leaked Valerie Plame's identity -- and he's sending a disturbing message about our national security.
The President should not wait to find out whether Rove is convicted in the end for his leak. Either Rove lied to the President about this matter of national security, which means he should be fired immediately, or the President is not being straight with the American people about his own involvement in this case.
With all the dissembling coming out of the White House, it's clear that the only way the American people can get to the bottom of this is through full Congressional hearings. I will call for hearings this week -- and you can strengthen this call by adding your name to our petition today:
http://www.johnkerry.com/firerove
With both the House and Senate in Republican hands it will be difficult to force Congressional hearings on the Bush White House. Having as many statements as possible from people in every state will help my colleagues and me show that this is what America wants. According to a poll released yesterday by ABC News, 75% of Americans believe that Karl Rove should be fired if he leaked classified information.
More than 300,000 people have signed on so far -- help us double our numbers by forwarding this email to your friends asking them to sign:
http://www.johnkerry.com/firerove
Thank you,
John Kerry

Didn't this have bipartisan support?

It's so hard to tell when you're kidding after your advocacy of state-sanctioned rape.

It's hard to acknowledge any moral authority from someone who supported the state sanctioned murder of Terri Schiavo.

The wonderboy of the right wrote a book, which is full of insights like "For liberals, premarital sex is less morally repugnant than smoking or hunting."
Fuck yeah, Virgin Ben.

Check and see when Breyer and Ginsburg were consented by the Senate, and who controlled the Senate at the time.
Your answer is still no, though not for the reason you think. Ty's point is valid.

I get bombarded pretty regularly by the RNC, asking me to have a lunch with Cheney or some such stuff for only a few thousand dollars dedicated to the defeat of those old meanie heathenous Democrats, even though I've never given a dime to the RNC.
As you've no doubt gathered, I'm more sympathetic to the Democratic Party, yet I've never been solicited by the stuff that so clearly intrudes upon your solitude.
You should check your surfing habits, or something.

She suggested his name; it wasn't her decision to send him.
I suggested that Bush nominate Mike McConnell (#4 on Penske's list!) to the Supreme Court, but that doesn't mean it's my call.
