I assure you that, in that situation, what I would be doing a lot of would not be talking. Too much during-sex-talk is pretty weird anyway.

There ought to be an emoticon that looks like the yapping signal you make with your hand when you're stuck on the phone with a chatterbox.

I don't drink vodka.* This goes back to junior year in HS, and an unfortunate incident that included (bad) vodka, (worse) white wine, and vomiting on everything from my neighbor's tree to the nice policewoman's shoes.
To this day, I cannot look at a Finlandia ad without feeling queasy.
*I will drink vodka in many-ingredient mixed drinks, where the fruit and mixers are all you really taste.

Is it just me, or do people on the east coast drink more hard alcohol than we westerners? I haven't had a martini in years - since the last one made me barf. OK, granted it was after some ice creamy dessert and the combination was too much for me, but still.
But whoever said there are no differences in gin is completely wrong.
And Manolos lost favor in my opinion when Kathie Lee Gifford said she LOVED them and had 100 pair. Ew.
Jimmy Choos, that's what you need.

Someone asked me that question (and it's a logical one), but, no. We don't have that button on the phone he was using.
You know what else is interesting about this encounter? The babysitter answered the door as I was rectifying my state of deshabille, and as she knew nothing of how the baby had been playing with the phone, thought someone actually had called the police. She told them that she had given the baby his medicine (he has an ear infection -- poor fella), and he was crying (apparently, it doesn't taste so good), but that she didn't think he'd been crying enough so that a neighbor would have called 911. The police, however, seemed to be inspecting the baby for signs of abuse.
Now, the police know that (1) the call came from my apartment and (2) could see that the baby is quite young (he doesn't really say many words yet). So, who did they think would have made the call in an actual abuse situation? The baby?!? Because... he had read in his baby manual that he should dial 911 in case someone is hurting him?
(That said, I am grateful to the NYPD for showing up, and told them so, and apologized profusely for having them make an unnecessary call -- but, a little logic, please?!?) I'm not really upset about that -- they're just doing their job; I just thought it was sort of amusing.
Also -- that picture of Kate Beckinsdale -- apart from the "ewww" factor -- I would NEVER have guessed that was she. I would have guessed Diane Lane.

This can be arranged.

If your opinion of something is going to be tied to what celebrities think of it, you should be careful. Star Jones is reportedly a huge, er, fervent Jimmy Choo fan.

I think we covered this ground a few boards ago -- wasn't a fireplace involved?
(And I swear, I don't mean to bring up SATC again to rehash what is overly hashed already, but the "too much talking" thing reminds me of one of the hilarious scenes from that show. Miranda is having sex with some guy, and he's talking dirty - a lot - and she's somewhat inhibited by that practice. So, when he asks her to talk dirty back to him, she responds with, "Uh... what you said?". A true LOL moment.)

Which raises the question of why one feels the need for a speed dial for 9-1-1.

They're all excruciating. I prefer a fantastic pedicure and going barefoot.

I can write her off because Star never met a shoe she didn't covet. And for the fact that since she is now shilling for Payless Shoe Source or whatever crappy discount store it is, she'll have to walk around in those plastic monstrosities rather than the Jimmies.

Yes, but if you were going to the Oscars, the shoe of choice was by far the Jimmies. Help me out here Str8. Am I not correct? LA women prefer Jimmy.

I have seen bartenders substitute well vodka for Stoli's, etc. I have never seen one sent back. If it's in a mixed drink, I challenge anyone to tell the difference after the first one.

I saw that. That was funny.
The 10-minute analysis of the incident afterwards, however, was just another example of.....
Okay, I'm kidding here.
