Whats that, are you complaining about socking?
Look, I just want two things from you and I'll go away:
First, lets hear some outrage over those Planes. People died.
Second, where's that article on the buses? Come on, cough it up. You've had three days. Just think of how much can be accomplished in three days. Bush had already done a 20 minute fly-over of the site within three days of Katrina.
If you don't like the sock, it is in your power to make it go away. Just as it was in Bush's power to keep the planes in the air.

The planes thing sounds troubling, if true, I would like to get more information. Do you have a cite to respectable media like CBS or the NYTimes? Or Al Jazeera?

Worked for the French. In fact, the French are really the only ones to have nuked a Middle Eastern (well, North African, but still Islamic) state.

You are actually advocating a military takeover of the private airplane industry?
Am I missing something here?

Can you not see the difference between saying, don't discontinue flights from one particular airport and saying, the military is taking over your entire industry?
If you can't, you are missing quite a bit.

There is no practical difference whatsoever.
You would be forcing all the airlines to dangerously/recklessly fly in inclement weather.

There ya go. Nagin didn't want to force the bus drivers to drive in such terrible conditions. It's much less dangerous to fly than drive.

Kind of Fun
From the Chronicle's Domeblog
Quote:
While on the tour with top administration officials from Washington, including U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao and U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, DeLay stopped to chat with three young boys resting on cots.
The congressman likened their stay to being at camp and asked, "Now tell me the truth boys, is this kind of fun?"
They nodded yes, but looked perplexed.
|
From the Chronicle in the "State" Section:
Quote:
DeLay's state PAC indicted
Grand jury says the use of corporate money violated Texas election laws
AUSTIN - A Travis County grand jury indicted a business organization and a political committee founded by U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay on Thursday on felony charges of violating election laws by using corporate money to influence state elections.
The indictments accuse the DeLay-founded Texans for a Republican Majority Political Action Committee of two counts of illegally soliciting corporate money for political campaigns.
The indictment of TRMPAC is significant because it reflects on DeLay's role in overseeing the committee. DeLay served on its board of advisers and helped raise some of the corporate money at the core of the controversy.
|
When the man is sitting on his cot, rotting in jail, I'll ask him if it's kinda fun.

He has the ability to keep them flying to deliver people and supplies in an emergency under a contractual agreement - the CRAF. There is an equivalent for ships. It's under DoD purview.
Norman Mineta finally got around to requesting activation to help deliver relief. Yes, Norman Mineta.

Much as I'd like to keep leading you on, I'll just note that every point I've made was cited in such an article posted by Ty, Shifter, Nut Case, or others, at some point on the 7th.
Feel free to go back and read.
Now, about that article on the buses. You're three days late. Where's my article?
Now, remember, two things:
(1) WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE? Or do you want me to start posting stories of trapped tourists who couldn't get out because of the airport, all with the captain: WHERE ARE THE PLANES?
(2) WHERE'S THE ARTICLE ON THE BUSES.

Here's all you need to know about the buses, if you can't figure it out from here you are either a dumbass or a liar, or both.

I'm betting less than the amount that the NYTimes and its star reporter Jayson Blair have done.
The question remains, the incompetence and gross negligence of Nagin has been firmly established, why do you want to keep defending him?

I'm betting you're wrong. So where does that leave us?

The question remains, the incompetence and gross negligence of Brown having been firmly established, on top of his fabricated resume, why do you want to keep defending him? WHERE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WERE THE PLANES?
