And the Chunky West Coast Monkey has just weighed in (no pun intended) to engage in his favorite activity -- calling the kettle black. Hello, you roly-poly pot. How the double-double chin are you?

Prediction of Coltrane's response. With the onset of menopause your humor has dried up along with your eggs but the bitter lives on.

Of course, if you're really here, be sure to make it over to the Dew Drop Inn for Friday afternoon happy hour. A bucket of Rocks is merely $5, and you can watch Wanda yell at Big Ed for picking all of the cashews out of the bowls of mixed nuts at the bar.
Y'all have cashews? Wow, you must live in East Podunk.

I recently met a young lass (not 22, but probably a similar age differential, and not a supermodel, but a cute actress) and she was all amazed when we went back to my place for the first time. In particular, that I had three bedrooms and NO roommates. "You should get some roommates," she said "so that there are always other people around to hang out with." "Plus," she added, unaware of how a mortgage works, "you won't be paying as much rent!"

I felt like I wasn't meeting the coolness standards imposed by young twentysomething Hotty McHotties on older lawyers.

Does Thurgreed's have a second career?

For several coaches to join in on this prank, and actually get an engraved trophy, this kid must have been the mother of all pains in the ass.

Coaches Reprimanded for 'Crybaby Award'

Tuesday, May 04, 2004

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. — The coaches of a middle school basketball team who humiliated one of their players by giving him a "crybaby award" will likely face disciplinary action from district officials.

The 13-year-old boy's coach called him just before last month's team banquet and told him to make sure he attended because he was getting a special trophy, the boy's father said.

At the event, the boy watched as all of his Pleasantville Middle School (search) teammates received trophies or certificates.

He was then called up to receive his award, and a coach told the crowd that the boy was being honored because "he begged to get in the game, and all he did was whine."

The trophy had a silver figure of a baby atop a pedestal engraved with the boy's name, which was spelled incorrectly. Family members said the teen — an honor roll student — was so embarrassed that he stayed home from school on the following Monday.

13 year olds, in my experience, are generally pains in the ass.

If this is the kind of stuff that happens in middle school in Pleasantville, NJ, I wonder what happens to middle schoolers in Unpleasantville? Sodomy with a broomstick?

ETA that the sodomy response to "pain in the ass" was an unconscious reference.

Ix-nay on the outing-ay, ubbo-tay. Here's a hint: the healthful qualities of olives are somewhat lessened by drowning them in gin and hounding the waitress for more. While I can't disagree with your taste in women, I was so embarrassed for you when you asked her to take a picture with you, you fucking tourist.

Incidently, it seems that NPR is fully aware of the problem and has recently reported on another attempt to ease the 30 somethings into mature fuddy duddy-ness. (dtb, is this appropriate hyphen useage?) Perhaps PLF should also look into attending one of the Punk Rock Orchestra concerts in San Francisco.
And the String Quartet played Coachella. Both days.

Hmmm. I have no idea whether she understands how a mortgage works, and perhaps the word "rent" should not have been used, but she is right that if you had roommates, and they contributed to the costs of housing, you would not be paying as much.
