The idea that the resolution will effect the President's thinking is a joke. A public vote is the last way to do that.

This resolution cannot possibly help national security, it can only hurt it. It is unbelievably irresponsible.
More irresponsible than Kerry's latest remarks at the World Economic Forum?

The most annoying part was his telling the world how it's an "unfortunate habit" of Americans for them to "see the world" through "an American lens." Like what other country's lens should we be viewing things through? Oh, right, I get it. Some sort of amalgamation of other cultures. That must be the right lens. I'm sure the dude he's standing next to is multi-cultural. In a lens-viewing way.

6 years into this, it doesn't say much for your abilities to think that your jokes are still on this level. No offense.

Kerry's problem is he ran for the wrong office. He should have run for President of the World.

he kicked too much Viet/Cambodian ass. They'd filibuster the nomination.

Gee, a losing Presidential candidate, that becomes such a sore loser, that he feels the need to jaunt from country to country, publicly courting our enemies in the process, to publicly blame his own country for all the world's woes.

Jimmy Carter should sue Kerry for stealing his schtick.

81-0

General Patreus said we need Security in Iraq before a political settlement can be reached. So this whole mantra of we need a political solution before a military solution is B.S. in his opinion. Patreus said that his plan, which includes the increase in troops, which he said he will implement if nominated, he belives provides the best chance to provide security in Bagdad, and therefore provides the best chance of us succeeding in Iraq. He has made it clear that this is his plan and his plan alone. There is no question that if he is confirmed that he will implement the plan.

Patreus was confirmed by the Senate 81-0. Not one Senator voted against his confirmation. Every Senator that voted for him knew that if he was confirmed his plan would be implemented. Therefore, every vote for Patreus, was really a vote for his plan. The only way the Senate could really stop the plan would be not to confirm him.

How can any Senator that voted to confirm this guy to run things in Iraq, then vote for a resolution condemning this man's plan for Iraq?

Yes - but that doesn't change the fact that you were quoting SAM.

I obviously thought I was quoting you, since you didn't use the right tags. You don't give an inch, do you?

your analysis regarding humor is of about equal value as PPNYC's opinions on who is good looking.
