I'll make you a deal. Promise that you'll let at least one thought go unexpressed every day, and I'll leave you alone.

I can top that. A transmittal letter that was actually handed to me for approval:

Dear [Irritating Audit Partner]:

Enclosed please find yada yada yada.

Before we seal deal: Question this is IRL

One temp gave someone a letter to sign, with the sig block on page 2 floating by itself. Is this not StandardOperatingProcedure or Secty 101 to insert page break to have a paragraph so it doesn't float alone? duh

I figured you'd be smarter than that. Although you ruined my fun by being stupid and responding so much earlier than necessary.

Does anyone have a cite to a good Yoda translator?

For 2007 I am thinking of dedicating myself to only speaking in Yoda-ese.

Wonking, but...

Is there some reason you would think that we want to be real lawyers? Because lawyers are so highly regarded, perhaps?

Reading about Maurice Clarrett's latest legal troubles makes me sad for him. Sure he's a goon and a thug, but if not for the Second Circuit determining that he wasn't eligible for the 2004 Draft, he might have straightened himself out via the structure provided by whoever drafted him. This crap about mugging people for their cell phones, driving around with guns in his car and a half-full bottle of vodka, it's sad.

On the other hand, it's no sadder than a million other similar stories of two-bit criminals who don't have any athletic ability.

Not quite sure I follow. He couldn't shape up under the structure of Jim Tressel. Not sure what an NFL program could have done differently, other than throw lots of money at him. He was also picked up by Denver last year. Couldn't make it and was cut rather quickly. It is a sad story, but I'm not sure if he was destined for anything else.

Not as sad as that contract the Jays gave to AJ Burnett last season.

Clarett might have turned into nothing, but he would have made a few bucks, and he would not have been the severe fuckup he is now. It is sad.

What's so special about Jim Tressel, other than his amazing ability to lose a game or two a year despite having some of the best teams year in year out. Overrated.
