Fancy is similar and would describe an activity or event that a classy person might throw. NOw please let me tretire in peace. out.

You may, of course, retire any time you like. However, you are wrong about the word fancy.
It's a perfectly funny word.
(Ever see the SpongeBob about "Fancy Livin' -- Here We Come"? The writers of that show got it just right.)

Not just at the wedding, but THE WEDDING MARCH. What the hell? Therefore, the classy comment.

No matter how good the performances (in fact, perhaps because they were so good -- or so I've heard), I won't see a movie with a subject matter as depressing as that one.

It's probably my all time favorite song. I could see walking down the aisle to it. Either that or Dance Me to the End of Love by Leonard Cohen.

ESPN.com Page 2 take:
"Thoughts and comments on "The Real World Reunion."
I was totally satisfied. Frankie was claiming that she's much better now, even though her hair was dyed charcoal and gray and she cried three different times during the show. Jacquese shattered his own personal record for "You know what I'm sayin'?" Jamie didn't speak for the first 30 minutes of the show, adding to her legend as the "Hottest chick in the history of reality-TV who somehow brought nothing to the table." Robin's breasts actually levitated at one point. The lesion on Charlie's face finally disappeared. And they revealed that Jamie had a thing for Brad during the show, which gave birth to one of the great faces in recent TV history: The Brad "Good God, I could have made a run at Jamie instead of getting the Mr. Miyagi 'Paint The Fence' treatment from Cameran all season?" Face.
Now it's a race between the cast members to see who can get the coveted "The Mizz Annual Scholarship" from MTV -- the chance to move to LA, turn your back on any semblance of employment, and somehow survive on your salary from the "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" for the next five years. The Mizz is like 35 and he hasn't even had to fill out a 1040-form yet. He's an inspiration to all.

You should be quibbling with Renee Zelwegger's performance in Cold Mountain then. Marcia Gay Harden was up for supporting actress.

Whifferoooski.
You are simply wrong. And while I have never viewed the Spongebob, I can see where you could subsittute classy for fancy and it would have the same effect. But i still dont care and i see thru your ploy here and will not be lured back. i left this nonsense for a ereason and because Wonk and Flower and some of the others begged me i chedked in today to see nothing has changed. NFH and Hank are still posting idiotic nonsense, the rest of you are still unfunny and I dont see much else happening. not much activity from the talent like sd and francis and pensek and wonk and flower is still jumping sharks.

Ohh! I just remembered. If you like Leonard Cohen songs, you should get kd lang's new CD, in which she does an unbelievable cover of Hallelujah. It's called "hymns from the 49th parallel" or something like that and she covers a bunch of songs by Canadians, including Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Jane Siberry etc (no Rush). I don't think the CD comes out for a few weeks but I heard her in concert and got a preview CD so I can assure quality (if you like her voice to begin with).

Plus, no one could be as stupid as her character was. The whole "willing suspension of disbelief" thingy went out the window with her actions toward the end of the movie.
Yeah yeah yeah, that's what the script said for her to do, etc. Whatever.

The new Tragically Hip is fantastic, for the three Canadians that may care.

Tuesday Night Bliss
Thoughts on the Big Two:
BB5: Don't these idiots learn anything? (I say this every year, I know). Shades of the infamous "hot tub alliance" with the 3 pretty boys + cowboy. I like Holly's chances to go far -- playing the ditz card often works well, and I've a hunch it'll work especially well with these idiots. Very impressed with Jase's ability to answer the questions and become HOH. Not impressed with much else about Jase. Will was pretty insufferable talking about his strategy to "play the gay card" at the right time. The brother (out of the brother/sister) thing -- pretty slick of him not to blurt it all out right away. If I were him I'd either a) not tell her at all, or b) tell her at a time and place very very far away from everyone else. Oh yeah, one more point -- Julie Chen looked like a Space Cadet in her silver. How did she get that job anyways? Oh yeah, she's dating the President of the network.
AR4: Best show on TV not named Deadwood. As expected, Donny and Allison rolled through everyone. If this were more of an honest race (i.e. no artificial lumping-together points) they'd win by 3 days. Allison is very very good at shit like this. As it is, they could get unlucky . . . . Very surprised that the first week losers were not one of the old and/or fat teams. Instead it was the "incredibly stupid" team. Prediction - Kami and Kari are going to be high comedy. Prediction 2 - I will have sex Kami and Kari at the same time.
Thank you CBS!

Oh no, no, no. Classy used in a self-referential way is clearly self-contradictory but not when used by one about others - then it can have any number of useful meanings that do not reflect poorly on the user.
So when I say, "DTB is one hell of a classy broad", it means not that I am declassé but rather that you are, well, what I said.
OTOH, when I whistle at one of Madonna's outfits and say "class-é", well, that's just meant to be ironic.
