NFH, are you sure it wasn't Dodgeball?

Why in the hell would anyone search for dodgeball?
And you've got to love a character named Gohan.

I suggest reassembling the same songs in a new playlist and trying again.

2. Which is not the magic number. It's 7, and that's only if the playlist includes purchased tunes. You can burn your own mixes from your own CDs as many times as you want.
BTW, google "itunes error 4450". It looks like you're not the first to get the message.

Here's another tip. Ask your kids for help if you have them, or find a 7 year old in the neighborhood and bribe him with sugar. Ask Spanky for more tips on children.

A good thought, but I'm raising mine Luddite, if only to postpone the day that my children take over by reprogramming every appliance in the house.

iCar, iTrip, iCan'tfindshitformycarthatworks
Monster's iCar FM transmitter undoubtedly works fine in some places, but in LA it's for shit because there are no blank spaces on the dial.
Monster's cassette adapter is for shit because you can't play anything at a regular volume. Even with the iPod volume cranked up, you still have to turn up the radio volume such that most of what you're hearing is static.
Reviews on apple.com seem to recommend Sony's cassette adapter, that it apparently shines where Monster's sucks ass. Any other recommendations?

Belkin's cassette adapter works well in terms of good sound quality and and I actually find I have to keep the volume down somewhat, which I am guessing means better throughput. On the other hand, the wires are very flimsy and mine split at about 9 months. Fortunately, the thing only costs about $35-40 to replace.

The Griffin adapter seems interesting, although it's still not shipping.
It plugs into the dock and allows the FF and REV buttons to control the iPod

Laptop woes continue
Ok, so I finally got around to fixing my prevously reported windows problem on my hp laptop by reinstalling windows and using the driver and application recovery cd's. I would like to thank everyone for their advice.
However, I am now reminded of a problem with the computer shutting down and refusing to start back up. I used to be able to fix this by popping out the battery and popping it back in, but today it stubbornly refuses to power up despite these efforts. I suspect it's an overheating problem -- I was so excited last night to have my wireless internet access again, that I left the poor thing sitting on the bed, getting all hot while I fed the baby (hi, penske!). The thing is, I thought it would have cooled off by now.
Unfortunately this problem first cropped up before the expiration of the warranty period, but I didn't manage to call HP right away.
I have considered buying a new battery and power cord and seeing what happens. I also suspect the power cord has a poor connection and doesn't charge the battery very well.
Any further advice? Does this problem sound familiar?
I just bought a nifty new digital camera to record the baby's every moment, so again, still trying to avoid the expenditure to replace a laptop that I bought only 15 months ago.

I have a friend with an HP laptop who was just recently having a problem with the power connection. Apparently its a well known problem, so that definitely could be it. I'll find out what she did.
Or you may have cooked your computer's innards.

HP Battery Recall
http://bpr.hpordercenter.com/bpr/
As of October 14, 2005 HP announced a battery pack recall for many computer models, including my model, except the very bitchy girl on the battery pack recall line said that my computer is not affected by the recall, so HP basically sucks shit.

Sounds like it's going into sleep mode instead of shutting down. When this happens, you have to kill the power - i.e., pull the battery - to reset it to "off" before you can restart it. (Do you ever get "xxx failed to shut down properly" messages when you get it going again?) Next time, try using whatever commands you would use to reawaken it from sleep mode to start it.
(P.S. Laying a laptop on a bed, with cloth possibly covering air inlet holes, will overheat it. Suckers put out a lot of heat. That puts it into sleep mode, too.)

Thanks. I think I have three separate problems: First, the sleep mode -- which I fixed by changing settings in windows. (Yes, I did get the "failed to shut down properly" messages.) Second, the overheating, which is obviously avoidable. And third, and most problematic, the fact that the laptop does not appear to recognize when it is plugged in. That is, if I go to control panel/settings/power, it only shows the battery, even when I wiggle the power cord, etc. So the laptop is always running on battery power, and the battery never gets charged. I think this problem has gotten progressively worse over time and now I've got to send it in to HP and pay for the out of warranty repair (even though the problem arose during the warranty period, but I just had a lot going on and no time to take care of it). Unfortunately even though this appears to be a common HP problem, my particular laptop is not eligible for the battery recall program.
This laptop is like the VW Jetta of computers.
Amazingly, the only problem the HP tech support person was able to "diagnose" was the hibernate setting in windows. Even though I insisted that I was sure it was not a windows setting problem, he never even had me look at the power supply indicator in the control panel. But of course he asked me to say that he had solved the problem to my satisfaction, even after I explained three times that it was not the kind of problem that I could tell was fixed 30 seconds after rebooting, and by the way, the baby just woke up and is crying and I can't stay on the phone. Then he transferred me to his manager. Good god man, can't you hear the crying? Do you really expect me to stay on the line to answer a survey?
Can you tell I'm highly dissatisfied with HP???
