NYT readers not misinformed
I didn't really get what you all meant back when you explained about how if I watch FoxNews I'd end up misinformed, but then this morning I finally started getting it.
See like Fox would just say- "It looks like the Rather memos are fakes." But the NYT helps the reader understand what to do with the information they're fakes:

Memos on Bush Are Fake but Accurate, Typist Says
Hurray for the PAPER OF RECORD!
Let's try here...."Ty, never said "quagmire" in a post, but saying he did is accurate."
or like this "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, we have no evidence of what happened, but if we did, I bet it would look like Exhibit 1."

Weird. Last night, this linked to a news story about a suicide bomber on a bicycle. Today, it's changed.

Florida still has fucked up election procedures.
This state baffles me. Though now I'm beginning to understand that the population has just been hit over the head a few too many times by debris scattered by hurricanes. This seems especially true of its election officials

Maybe it's just that it's early and I haven't hit critical mass on my caffeine consumption, but what is your point here?
ETA why the fuck can't we delete our own posts?

It Will Be the Worst of Times
This NYT editorial pretty much sums up everything I've been saying about the Bush tax plan, in a far more concise way than I have been able to.
Bilmore, if you think you're paying too much in taxes now, just wait.

It was almost as transparent as the NYTimes review of Kitty Kelly's book wherein they "tsk, tsk" Kelly for recklessly accusing the Bushes of infidelity, drug use, abortion, draft-dodging, etc...
... by listing every single salacious and unsubstantiated accusation made by Kelly in the book. I was considering buying the book, but now I don't have to. Kelly should sue the Times for lost profits.
Rather has to go. He lost it long ago. He's like Andy Rooney, but he's no fun to laugh either with or at.
This morning, some guy gave an interview in which he said Kerry asked him to inflate claims of war crimes committed in Vietnam. This is the saddest election ever. Two guys with "nuthin" - absolutely "nuthin".

I am amused by all of the righty wingnuts (sebby not included in this category) who are calling for the defenestration of Rather for getting gulled by fake memos but who have no problem with the fact that Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith and the rest of the crowd that fucked up Iraq still have their jobs. Accountability only applies to the press.

I prefer no asterisk. I enjoy your posts much more if I imagine a certain irrational hyperbole behind them, kind of like a righty Lewis Black.

Well, this is clearly much more important than those silly Nigerian uranium documents.

You are missing the point. He should not go because he got faked out. He should go because he won't admit that the docs are fakes in light when nearly every expert in the world has concluded that they are.
