Well, I mean, that was a fish. Fish are not as cute as deer. Even cartoon fish.
(I have actually forgotten what happens there. I don't know if I missed the beginning, or if the trauma of listening to Albert Brooks for the whole movie edged that out in my mind.)

I know that NY rivals LA as an oddball food mecca, but I'm curious -- how did you accomplish this? Are there raw food restaurants scattered across Manhattan, or is this an rarity, like oxygen bars?

And who can argue with logic? It's so logical. It's like if you were to eat nothing but plankton, you could grow about 80 feet long on average and weigh about 120 tons. So stay away from the plankton.

There are about 3 or 4 raw foods restaurants, so yes, kind of oddball - but they deliver!. Also my nearby supermarket has a ginormous raw foods section (actually right now I am munching on Tibetan Gogi Berries (organic and sun-dried!) from said section), so it was not that hard to accomplish. I drank a lot of wheatgrass and juiced vegetables and stuff as well. My skin was in fantastic shape.

Are you asking me? I don't know - as I said, I only did it for a month.

80 feet long on average and weigh about 120 tons is okay if that's the body nature intended for you. Why try to spread your cookie cutter Barbie body image? Do you make your daughter cry if she eats some candy?

Were you with the non-bf at this point? This could be hard to pull off in a relationship, especially a nascent one. Unless all you do is stay home, order in from different restaurants and have energetic sex.

I know someone who does it (she's been doing it for over 2 years) and she has dropped considerable weight and gotten a lot more energy since she started. I understand that I cannot do it because it involves (1) no alcohol and (2) no tea (I'm not sure which I would miss more), but the premise behind it all is somewhat intriguing to me*. This website - http://www.living-foods.com/ - has a lot of information about it. Note to Flinty, stick with the bananas:
I'm assuming everyone here thinks the raw foods philosophy is nuts (Nuts!) but I'm curious if there are any differing views.

I can give you my Ayervedic (sp?) cookbook if you want. You can just have the caffeinated tea and alcohol despite its strictures. It's all vegetarian. I'm sure you will be able to find prepared foods that meet its requirements. I made two or three things from it that sounded good but none of them actually were good, so it's just taking up valuable cookbook shelf space, which could be filled with "100 Of The Most Delicious Cakes Known To Modern Man."
ETA the cookbook contains definite views on what should and shouldn't be cooked, and what foods should and shouldn't be eaten. Not entirely unlike the raw food stuff, except you can cook some things.

What did you do as a social life? I have an issue with a friend who is on some weird, time-consuming diet, and suspect another friend soon may be doing the same thing, and then I will be bored off my ass and *my* social life will consist of sex only.

Great googly moogly you may be onto something there! I never said these guys didn't seem like crackpots, just that some of their ideas are interesting (though ultimately unfollowable for me). I probably cut off the quote too soon, because it think he clarified that the reason he turned to the ape family is because they are our closest evolutionary* relatives.
*if you believe in that theory.

I stayed in a lot with my husband. It was boring as hell. The NHL playoffs were on, so I watched a lot of hockey.
