Ice wine is yummy dessert wine. I read an article recently that talked about the good Canadian ice wine but that it was hard to find inthe US. (Quantities on ice wine are usually small; maybe the Canucks want to keep all the good stuff for themselves.)

I had some Jackson Triggs around Thanksgiving. Didn't really care for it. Inniskillin you can get anywhere. Does it absolutely have to be ice wine? Kiona makes a very good Late Harvest Riesling. Locally, you can get a white port from Cedar Mountain that's good, or something super tasty, the Dolce from Far Niente. It was available at Costco for awhile.

1. How much of a pain would it be to get from the Oakland airport into SF on a Friday afternoon (either just before rush hour or, god forbid, during rush hour)? It seems that Oakland is the only place Southwest flies in the area - is this correct? If so, do people still fly Southwest or do they pay the extra $100 for American or United? How convenient is the SF airport for downtown SF?

2. Where close to the business district of SF should a person stay? Any good Starwood joints? W? Westin? Or any boutiques the person should try instead? Assume the person lacks the budget for the Mandarin Oriental. Assume also that the person's business will be paying for one night and the person and his or her companion might just stay for a second night and foot the bill (or use Starwood points!) themselves.

3. How bad is the SF weather in late February? Need for an umbrella? Coat?

I have stayed at the W in SF a couple of times. The beds are ridiculously comfortable and it has always been a very pleasant stay.

Sigh. I wish I had a good reason to stay at the SF W.

Traffic westward over the Bay Bridge can be a drag, especially the later you are in rush hour. OTOH, if you fly into SFO then you have to take 101 into the city. Either way, you can skip the traffic by getting out of the cab and taking BART. I have BARTed to and from both airports, and it's not bad at all.

It may rain. Temperatures likely to be in the 40s and 50s, as I recall.
