I think it's obvious that this meaning is baked in to the expression.

I'll have to try using it in litigation.

Judge: Counsel, could you please explain why the Constitution bars the prosecution of your client for soliciting?

Me: Well, the freedom to engage in a business pursuit is baked in to the First, Fifth, and 14th amendments, your honor.

You read a whole lot into dorky comments by your opposing counsel.

Speaking of feeling old, I was especially depressed last year around my birthday, as the "number" was one that sounded old to me (irrational [not the number, my reaction] -- not a milestone number or anything, just one that sounded old.)

Well, as luck would have it, I had miscalculated my age (that's what happens when you get old), and I was actually one year younger than my "old-sounding" age; I had a new lease on life! I had been granted a reprieve!!

However, now it's time to pay the piper. My birthday is fast approaching, and that number is looming. Although, now that I've had a year to get used to it, it doesn't trouble me as it did last time around.

(I told you my minimalist period would be short lived!)

me: I think we need a rep that they'll notify us if they are aware they're in breach.

client: I think that's already baked in to the agreement. There's a notification requirement in section 1(a).

blah blah blah

(of course, I would never miss a notification requirement. never)
My god, people! Do you live in caves?

What, no pictures? Re pictures, is anyone really surprised that a band called "Cumshot" has people who fuck on stage (see Adult board)?
I did find some from years past via Google, but I'm so sweet and naive that I can't bring myself to post them, even on the Adult Board.

I've never seen a porn flick
I've never accessed the Adult Board.
I've never read/viewed a skin mag.
Have no desire to do any of those things, and yet I don't mind going to strip clubs. Weird dat.

Pfft. As if I wouldn't.

(I do admit, however, I don't know what "boffins" are.)

Definitely not limited to TCOTU - it has been dismayingly prevalent in Silicon Valley for at least three years. By now, I hardly even wince any more. (Your lives must be far more sheltered from encounters with technology marketing people than mine.)

Most excellent Atticus. That was a catch-phrase used by an old boyfriend and me not without frequency.
