We did not dine. We cocktailed. At one point, some smallish appetizers were brought to the table. I cannot recall the exact ingredients. I tried one because it was the suggested pairing with my cocktail. I dined later with others from the Harsh But Fair Posse. Pan-latin! Pisco Sours aplenty!!!

When you are at a pan-latin restaurant, the Pisco Sour never goes out of style.

It was at a cocktail lounge-y type place. Not really retro, more like swanky, but not unfriendly or hoity-toity. I actually had a cocktail. Kind of a fancy one. Because I had a vicious cold and wanted some warm-up for the half-bottle of Nyquil I would consume later (which did the trick, because today I feel right as rain).
etnote that I spilled a smallish appetizer on my lap. No stain though.

I think Penske was referring to the Pisco Sour episode, which occurred after the swanky lounge. Although the swanky lounge did have it's own take on the Pisco Sour. I enjoyed other cocktails there, however.
As for the smallish appetizer lap debacle, have your gal send my gal the dry cleaning bill. We'll have it taken care of.

For str8 and Coltrane
NPR will be webcasting the Wilco show on Thursday from the 9:30 club in DC. It'll also be cast from the Wilco website, though I think that NPR keeps those things up longer and you can download them for use later. The show on Friday was excellent. Totally worth the 400 mile round trip.
Tweedy has a DVD coming out in the next few weeks from a solo acoustic tour he did earlier this year, and apparently a new album will be coming out Spring 2007. This tour is testing some of the new songs. I liked what I heard.
ETA setlist for the show I saw. I imagine the 9:30 club will be similar.

Sorry for the confusion. Mo = Mormon(-ish); 'Mo = gay. A subtle, yet significant, distinction.

etn that mainstream orthodox Mormons (TBMs = True Believing Mormons) do not use the term "Mo"; they refer to themselves as LDS. I think "LDS" is part of a let's-exclude-the-nonbelievers code, so I always say "Mormon," "Mo" for short.

My IPOD shuffle is plaing "Jealous Guy," which I believe is a John Lennon song. The particular version is from "More for Your Pleasure" which is a Roxy Music tribute CD. Now Roxy may well have done the better version when it covered Jealous Guy, but it isn't a Roxy tune.
Is thios okay material for a tribute album?
Could "Never Mind the Bullocks Here's the Tribute Album" have covered "My Way?"

If someone ever does a set of tribute posts to your posts, would you restrict them to posts in which you weren't quoting anyone? Because the quote is an essential part of the post, and you did not write it.
Think about it.

I would imagine that "Me and Bobby McGee" would be an appropriate song on a Janis Joplin tribute album, even though it's a Kris Kristopherson song.
