I guess I am a bit of a princess, because my everyday watch cost about 1500 and the face is surrounded by diamonds, but they might do a non-diamond and therefore less expensive model.

Mine is a Michelle watch and the website is here: http://www.michele.com/

Any suggestions/advice/ideas in the way of an every-day (i.e., not special occassion) watch for Mrs. Ramone? FWIW, you're shopping for a youngish late 30s, reasonably fit (runs around 25 miles/week; size 6 at 5'6"), attractive if I do say so myself, former English teacher-turned stay-at-home mom of 2 young girls.

I'm sort of thinking $200 range, but I'm flexible.

Thanks!
Even though you've left me off of your list, I will hep you out.
Gucci. My weekend casual watch. Has a leather band, is in about your price range. Or Movado had a nice new line of metal band watches that don't look like Movado watches.

There's a guy on the corner here that will sell you a Guchi or Channel watch for $25. You can get several.

Or go to Nordstrom and pick up an Anne Klein. They're not bad for the price. I think most of them are under $200. Inexpensive without looking cheap.

This one's $150 and comes in gold-tone or silver-tone.

This one's $75. A little more casual.

Yes, but as Spanky has noted, you are steaming hot. I think I am probably in the bitter/pissy because non-attractive, and therefore threatened.

An assortment of Swatches? http://www.swatch.com has some pretty cool "nicer" watches too.

I've had one of these for close to 10 years. I wear it almost every day and I'm pretty hard on it but it still looks presentable and works well. I think I've only changed the battery once or twice in the time I've had it.

I have a Skagen and I like it. It looks good and it's very thin. I think I got it for $50 as part of some promotional thing at Sharper Image.

Ollie (and this has nothing to do with ppnyc), this is the ugliest watch I've ever seen. Please buy it for your wife. Thanks.

Wow. you're so bothered you skipped two or maybe 3 words. Don't be discouraged, maybe Ollie is looking for a woman who isn't off running all the time.

I'm trying to get better at wife shopping. How does one factor weekly mileage into watch decisions?

It should have been understandable -- it was just shorthand.

I would be cheaper, as a non-watch-wearer.

Not sure but I was wondering the same. And the size 6. If she was a fat slob does she deserve less of a watch? assuming, that she is a good mom nonetheless?
