I think it was the internet that he eliminated. But I could be wrong.

Fantastic response, take the last line of a long post and respond to it in isolation. Just color you Plated. (But don't get all AG on me.)
Yep, you're right, to the extent I raised the issue, that was it (i.e. that you claim bias a LOT) as expressed in an attempt at gentle humor. I can see that this is the point that really resonates with you, so you keep going back to it. But PLEASE ACCEPT MY STATEMENT THAT I DID NOT INTEND TO RAISE THIS ISSUE. IT WAS NOT MY POINT. So PLEASE stop talking about it.
My joke was really about the other issue -- which you characterized as "Anything anti-Bush is biased", (particularly wrt the presentation of the case for War with Iraq) and which you say you don't believe.

P.S. The words Jay Leno uses when someone shouts out of the audience seem to apply here: "Boy, comedy's hard! Isn't it sir?"

If the question is: Is this, like Watergate, a political misdeed that transcends the actual criminal acts (if any) committed by the transgressors? Then my answer is, yes, because politics should be played by certain unwritten rules.
|
You know, and independent from the question of the adies, I think if it were purely politics, it is less of an evil. I truly think breaking into the Watergate was closer to a dumb prank than a serious misdeed.

That would probably be the best way for the Republican leadership to handle it -- because it just seems wrong and unseemly (regardless of illegality) and they don't want the same done to them.
A few quick firings and disavowals of all knowledge should do the trick. The other arguments should be made to DOJ by the attorneys for the staffers.

Of course it was. But it was the cover-up that brought the administration down. Didn't you get the memo?

Unless you want me doing one of those twelve-page quote/unquote screeds, I have to look for the best sum-up of your theme. That struck me as it, and as your choice in that role, too.

And how did you feel about the lying to Congress, interfering with investigations, etc., etc. that following the little felonious prank?

I'm half expecting God (Avatarless, as always) to appear for you.
Nonetheless, we're talking about Watergate. A scandal that led to lots of big dudes going to jail for extended terms.
You called it a "prank". Is this kind of like Clubby's "petty crimes"?

Hank, I am taking my last post back. It appears that GGG did NOT get the memo. Or did not understand your post, one of the two.

You remember when the Professor and Skipper found the 2 way radio, and they were getting ready to call for help, then your ass, back-casting a fishing line, catches the radio and throws it in the lagoon? What the fuck were you thinking?
