Oh, NUTS!
Leave it on the squirrel, missy. It's even nicer that way, and we like to cuddle.

(Article on Gillettes new razor, the five-bladed, vibrating Fusion Power. No need to repost the old SNL skit - it's referenced in the article)

LLBean has no grey, and Lands End is sold out of the light grey (dark is too dark) in the king size. I'll try WS though. Thanks

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

When Will It Stop?
Razor blades are a fucking scam. $12 for four blades? I'm lucky to get 10 shaves out of one blade, and I don't have a thick beard. Someone bought me one of those Gilette M3 Power razors (whichever one that vibrates). It works fine. Nothing spectacular. When I travel, I use two-blade Gilette disposables, a package of 12 of which you can get for $10, and there really isn't much of a difference b/w the disposables and the M3 Power (except that the M3 blades are more than triple the price of a disposable razor).

When Will It Stop?
How much closer does 2 or 3 blades shave than 1?
How long does it take your beard to grow that marginal difference?
I'm betting 2 blades buy you about an hour of additional "clean shave" and the 3rd gets you like 5 more minutes.

My random thoughts:
Boy, some of those people auditioning were really bad. Don't they realize they can't sing? Some of them were sort of funny, though. I think some of them might have been gay.
Some of the people auditioning were pretty good. I wonder if one of them will be the next American Idol?
Greensboro looks like a hole into which one shits.
Simon sure is mean.

On Feb. 1, I could buy you a celebratory cocktail. Though I suppose I could spring for the drink even if you gave notice the day before. If you give notice on the 31st, will you be too hung over for a drink on the 1st?

Instead, I was pointing out how pathetic it is that, absent my spelling out the issues that I know he already understands and mocking the thought processes that allow him to post what he posts, he will continue to build the "all DAs are evil bastards who gleefully prosecute the innocent" strawmen and then bravely knock them down out of some instinctual need to defend our criminal justice system and the prosecutors who serve it.
It is absolutely pathetic that I had to spell this out to you in this level of detail.
That time I meant exactly what I wrote.

I still don't get it. Can you flesh it out a little more?
Which time?

Question(s) for Bay Area GA's

1. How much of a pain would it be to get from the Oakland airport into SF on a Friday afternoon (either just before rush hour or, god forbid, during rush hour)? It seems that Oakland is the only place Southwest flies in the area - is this correct? If so, do people still fly Southwest or do they pay the extra $100 for American or United? How convenient is the SF airport for downtown SF?
|
45 minutes by car/taxi barring a real foul-up on the Bay Bridge. Same by BART. Yes, as to Oakland being your only choice on Southwest. I fly SWA, but: (1) I work on the Oakland side of the Bay Bridge; (2) it is much cheaper/more convenient if one is driving one's own car; and (3) it is smaller. SFO is probably 15 minutes more convenient to downtown SF than Oakland, but far less likely to have a traffic foul-up on the Bay Bridge and much cheaper in a cab. Also, BART now goes to SFO - 30 minutes to downtown for $5.

2. Where close to the business district of SF should a person stay? Any good Starwood joints? W? Westin? Or any boutiques the person should try instead? Assume the person lacks the budget for the Mandarin Oriental. Assume also that the person's business will be paying for one night and the person and his or her companion might just stay for a second night and foot the bill (or use Starwood points!) themselves.
|
Others have answered this better than I because I don't stay in hotels here.

3. How bad is the SF weather in late February? Need for an umbrella? Coat?
|
Possibly (one never knows), and yes.
