That seems much easier to believe than hiring , hypothetically, 22 year old hot women to go out on 100 dates in a month with this list of guys who have expiring subscriptions.

I think your FIL and my FIL should get together and go bowling.

Why would anyone renew if they got shitty ones for the first three months?

If this is a reference to last night's Curb, I think a "U" would be more appropriate.

Wouldn't their matching get better and better as they get more feedback from your early dates?

What I've actually heard is that you spend hours filling out some boring, dumb questionnaire and then they send you "matches" that are simply not matches at all. Like you say you want to date Lutherans with MBAs who are at least 5'10" and they send profiles of short Jewish engineers.
ETA: Heh, the subconscious is a funny thing -- my "desired" hypo fits Mr. Chapped Hands.

Not if the matches they send are so far off ("looking for a woman to be a mother to my three children" and located about 200 miles away) that there never are any dates.

I have almost NEVER been attracted to anyone who was a "good match" for me. (Not from match.com, just a general observation of people who are "good on paper" - no attraction) I don't think I am alone in being attracted to people who are horrible "matches" for me on paper. What do they match these people in? Hobbies? Jobs? What? I want to date someone who introduces me to new things, not someone who is a mirror image of myself.
ABBA(seriously asking what they "match" people on)Kiss

hmm. I think it is because you start to get promising ones right as your subscription is about to expire. My friend told me she got one match in 2.5 months, and then six matches two days or so when it was about to expire.

I don't know how it works - if they are set up to receive feedback or not.

I still think that we would have made a great commercial for them.

There is a comedienne named Maria something (has a little girl voice) who does a thing about a dating service and it is hysterical. Things like, "He is 5'2" and balding. He has an interesting career -- he is a pirate...a sea pirate. He is MARRIED.....so when would you like to meet him?"
