Question
Media reports indicated that passengers may be forced to sample infant formula or milk before being permitted to fly. Is that true?

Answer
No. TSA will not ask passengers to sample fluids or beverages during the screening process. This process is being required at foreign airports and is not required at any domestic U.S. airport. Infant formula must be submitted for inspection to a TSA security officer by passengers traveling with a baby
Good going! Why not just sned the terrorists a how-to manual???

Drinks purchased in the airport cannot be carried onto flights.

Medications will be allowed but must be presented for inspection at security checkpoints.

Mothers can bring baby formula on board, but only after drinking it in front of security officials first.

All shoes must be removed and placed on an X-ray belt for screening.

Passengers are also asked to arrive at least two hours early to allow for additional screening.

Passengers traveling to the United Kingdom should contact their airline for information about any extra security measures or precautions that might be required. Laptop computers, mobile phones and iPods are among items banned on British flights.
Abso-fucking-lutely absurd.

Snopes verified, just because I wanted to make sure I hadn't just imagined an incident:

Ok, ok, I'll ease up then. For the love of all that is holy, just promise me that you won't procreate with NFH--think of the consequences.

It's too easy. You give an exception to baby formula and insulin then suddenly the terrorists are diabetic with babies.

The news stands inside security now have a new revenue source selling overpriced travel sized lotions and eye care stuff.

And the airlines will make money selling hugely overpriced bottled water during the flight.

I just wonder how enforcement's going to work if they're not checking your bag at the door to the plane. If you see someone with a bottle of Dasani in the airplane do you tell the flight attendant? Will they confiscate your bottle? Arrest you?

Hmm. I'm wearing Nannette Lepore today. And I don't own any Burberry, Pink or Brooks Brothers. I am the anti-ppnyc.

(but I promise that if I am allowed time off to decompress, I will not buy (much) Nannette Lepore or Betsey Johnson during that period.)

Yes. You do. In case the "yes" was unclear.

And iPods and cell phones.

Yay us. I have never owned any Burberry, Pink, Brooks or Ann Taylor.

But I am not wearing Nannette Lepore today. Tommy Bahama and Faconnable not that anyone cares.
