Your youngest's a bit older than mine, but I would say that for me the water-resistant thing is key, at least in an everyday watch. I wouldn't want to wear something for every day where I would be worried about food getting smushed down into the hinges, etc. Even the $200 price point would be out for me.
Like RT, I'm a Swatch gal. I've got a slightly dressier one at the moment that I can truly wear every day and not worry about it getting hurt or damaged.

All the guidance I get is that she does not want a sports/running watch.

I am generally wnarky because I have had a bad relationship history. Dumped a lot for strippers and models. Also possibly there was incest.*
I recalled the discussion being that they break a lot and are lower quality than most other brands (as well as being a bad value, of course). But I didn't go back and review the old posts, so I won't quibble. Tiger Woods likes them at least. And he's never led me astray with his Buick recommendations.

Fair point; and the youngest likes to demand watches from time to time. I'm not set on that price point; it could be lower or higher.

The Wenger Swiss Army watch that I'm pimping is in your price range and also able to sustain whirled peas being mushed onto it. It is also comfortable to wear when exercising. They make other models if the tank style doesn't light your fire.

Get her one of those massive Panerai watches favored by short bald men. She'll get nice defined arms just lifting her hand in the air.

how about ollie gets her a Georgia Tech watch.....
tell her it's always been his fav team, some shit like that, and that he'd really like her to wear it. then get the right colored wig, and Ollie could pretty much follow up on the time he passed.

Yep. FWIW, Ms. Gap has this one:
This would cause a problem, naturally, if Mss. Ramone and Gap were to attend the same party, but since we don't get up to Oregon that much, this risk seems worth taking.

I have nothing to add except that I like seeing your avatar as much as possible.

We'll be doing the Mouse pilgrimage in May, so the risk increases a bit, but still...
You should visit Oregon; as Penske will tell you, the wines are superior. And they come in bottles!

I realize your bad relationship history has left you bitter and mean. However, given that I am part of the legion of older, bald, married men, i.e, the only ones desperate enough to lust after you, I would expect some slack.
Apparently, you have crossed the rubicon, given yourself over to bitter, celibate spinsterdom, never again to feel the warm breath of a man standing too close behind you on a bus or subway car, or spy the guy leering at your ass as you ride up the escalator, hoping that you'll drop something and have to bend over.
Sad. You really weren't all that unattractive, especially for an older woman.
