I think you will find heroes and assholes at all socioeconomic levels. People tend to be that way. I'm fairly certain that truth applies all along the spectrum.

Michael Jordan has that covered.
Quote:
Then there was Jordan and Kwame Brown during a scrimmage in D.C., as it's recounted in Michael Leahy's book about Jordan's comeback in Washington:
Brown became maddeningly frustrated, a kid convinced he was being repeatedly fouled in intrasquad scrimmages by two veterans, Christian Laettner and Jahidi White, who weren't quick enough, Brown believed, to stay with him. He would drive toward the basket and feel himself being bumped by a hard hip, sometimes losing the ball, infuriated that the referees wouldn't blow a whistle. "That was a foul," he finally groaned.
Play stopped. There was an electric silence. A wide-eyed Jordan was walking toward him. "You fucking flaming f----t," Jordan exploded. "You don't get a foul call on a little goddamn touch foul, you fucking f----t. You don't bring that f----ty shit here. Get your goddamn ass back on the floor and play. I don't want to hear that shit out of you again. Get your ass back and play, you f----t."

I heard that in the Women's room in Pennypacker's common area there are still several graffiti about me, "for a Good time call Hank (leviathan) C."

You and I have the same macro for Hank's leviathan posts.
I am also quite sure that every scrawl in a bathroom regarding "for a good time call" is written by an unhappy ex.

Oh Paddy, dear, and did you hear the news that's going round?

Are those guys, acting tribally as they are, bigots?
(Please don't go with the low hanging fruit of "Yours is a hypo, mine was real." This hypo is played out in offices all over the country every day. It has been the basis for a huge number of complaints on behalf of women who historically felt excluded when male execs went golfing or to strip clubs.)
|
I'll play. Are you saying that my Mick brethren are not improperly discriminating against the Pakistani associate in your hypo? Because your hypo sounds like it to me. Women, you surely know, cannot join the Hibernians (the can join the Ladies Auxillary), so even my niece Maureen the Loyola law alum whose face looks like tha map of Ireland (as my mother used to say) would be the victim of illegal discrimination at this hypothetical firm of O'Dwyer & McMahon. Heck, my gay cousin Sean has been trying to join the club for years and they keep him out and won't let he and his friends march in a big parade that the have every year on public streets.
In short, that sort of tribalism is racism when the Not Hibernian has a different skin color, sexism when she's a chick, homophobic when he's gay, etc.

Given the URL, I'm guessing Twitter.

Calling this guy a bully is expanding that term way beyond what it is, and letting him off way too easy. The NFL should call him the simple thing he is: Racist. And then fire the asshole as any corporation would.

Things like this confirm for me that not giving a shit about American football is a good thing. The defense of the racist asshole by so many really says it all, no? My FB feed, full of commie pinko feminazis but apparently not full enough of them, runs strongly pro-asshole on this one.
